In reply to: [Facebook for WooCommerce] Some sets failing to show up in Facebook storeSorry I took so long to get back to you. I’m been busy.
I received this from Facebook support “After a careful review, we found that the Facebook catalog contains different data than your WooCommerce catalog, we kindly advise that you contact WooCommerce and request that they send Facebook the most up-to-date catalog data. There can sometimes be a delay between editing your WooCommerce catalog and WooCommerce sending that updated data to Facebook. The Facebook system only displays the data it receives, so, if there are any discrepancies between the catalogs, this would indicate that Facebook hasn’t yet received the updated data and it would be best to contact WooCommerce to get that issue resolved and the updates sent to Facebook.”
Here’s the link to the data you requested. https://gist.github.com/tahlianewland/10077f382ab9698222da89a1a65412ae
I’m happy to give you access to the website if you want.

I forgot to say that my website is an Amazon affiliate seller and the purchase link goes to the Kindle store. I tried changing the purchase link on one of the unsyncing books to the paperback version on Amazon in case FB was reading the Kindle page link as a digital sale, but it made no difference. All the books synced link to the Kindle store, so that doesn’t seem to be the issue.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Product link leads to lines of code not webpageThis morning a friend tried the link posted on Facebook and on Messenger and both worked. But the link still doesn’t work for my husband. It works always for me except for on Instagram (posted through the Later app) when it worked once, then didn’t work. The other links posted through that app seem to work just fine. It’s very odd.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Product link leads to lines of code not webpageI just tried it again on Instagram through the Later App link and this time it didn’t work for me. So sometimes it does work and sometimes it doesn’t.
It also doesn’t work from Facebook for some people.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Product link leads to lines of code not webpageI used the Later app to share the link on Instagram, but someone also told me that the link didn’t work on Linked in and that was shared through the website automatically when I published the product. It works on Messenger for me, but not for my husband.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Product link leads to lines of code not webpageHere’s a screenshot from my husband’s phone when he clicked a link on Messenger. I also got it when I clicked a link to it on instagram, but today it was okay for me. This screenshot was from just a few minutes ago.
Thanks
Okay. Here’s the link to the last post that showed the flag.
The flag is a tiny image on the top right hand corner of the site, it’s associated with a Woocomerce currency converter widget. A widget I can’t do without.
As for the performance issues, I’ll get onto my hosting company. But what should I ask them? Do I just say that my sites seem to have ‘performance issues’ that are creating occasional time-outs when loading and are preventing Jetpack publicize from sharing correctly to G+, and is there anything they can do about it? Or is there something more specific I can say?
Thank greatdanemaniac
I don’t know how to make a plugin, but I do know where to find the php file. Do I put it in at the top or the bottom of the file? I’ve never done that kind of thing before and I don’t want to stuff anything up.
Thanks guys. Where do I put the code and can you suggest a xml sitemap plugin.
Hi again Jeremy,
The designer is working on a volunteer basis and I can’t get onto her, but here’s an update.
The awesome Indies site is posting fine to Fb, and most of the time it’s okay on G+. We only use Jetpack for publicise and subsctiptions to the blog and forms. We never turned any of the other modules on. Recently this post didn’t have the right photo.
but the rest of the posts this month have been fine in both places. The tahlianewland.com site is a problem though. I no longer use Publicize for Facebook and do that manually because it’s so often comes up with the wrong photo. G+ was going all right there for a bit but when I checked recently, several posts have come up with the Australian Flag, not the featured image. Even though the flag is tiny on the site.
These are the posts that are the issue.
The time out issue you found, being an occasional thing, is certainly worth looking into further. Do I need to contact my hosting provider about that?

In reply to: HTML Error when uploading photosI went to my host and they said I was using too fast a PHP something or other, which I had raised in order to use a plug in that needed it. Since I no longer use the plugin, they changed the PHP version of whatever it was that I was running and also raised my upload limit. So far that has appeared to have fixed the issue.
