In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Stop Yoast Site Health error about postnameHi @mikes41720
Thanks for the reply. I can’t see how to attach an image here, so I’ll do my best to describe it.
When I go onto the Site health screen it is always showing ‘1 recommended improvement’ for SEO. “You do not have your postname in the URL of your posts and pages”
“It’s highly recommended to have your postname in the URL of your posts and pages. Consider setting your permalink structure to /%postname%/.
You can fix this on the Permalink settings page. This was reported by the Yoast SEO plugin”
My website has been live for over 6 years and has thousands of links, and so many external to me that I have no control over. I simply cannot change the permalink setting if it will break all existing links.
If there were a way to maintain all current ‘simple’ links and change new post links to be the recommended one I would definitely do that, but it seems WordPress is one or the other, not allowing for a ‘change to future links’.
As I came to SEO late, and it seems too late for this basic thing (Also as my post titles are often long, the URLs were a bit too long), I just want to ‘accept’ the error and move on without it being a permanent feature.
So firstly can the error be silenced, and secondly might there be a way to implement both URL structures in parallel?
Thank you.
Hi @jenhooks not sure if you can help. I logged a ticket, and emailed a reply to it, but can’t find any way to view it or check on the progress. I’m worried it has gone astray. All the time this issue is in effect, I am losing stats (I assume once the correct stats history is restored, any logged in the mean time will be lost and not added onto the correct stats?
I’ve realised that actually the affected website had no changes made to the nameservers. Only normal plugin updates.
Hi @jenhooks I’ve sent an email from the admin email address (as a reply to the ticket email) I hope that is sufficient?
Does this mean that if I were to change nameservers again (or something else) the same sort of issue will arise?
Hi @jenhooks Thanks, and oops, I might not have done that quite right. I got an email to my proper account email address, so should I reply to that to confirm. Sorry, first time things have gone wrong like this, but it is a biggy with data for me going back to 2016 missing.
Oh, and not to mention all my email subscribers have been wiped out. Which makes me wonder what else has gone missing.

In reply to: [Health Check & Troubleshooting] Incompatibility with JetpackI too am having this issue. With this plugin active the stats by jetpack dashboard widget fails to load. Disable this one plugin and the stats load again.
