In reply to: [Featured Image Pro Post Grid] Known Issues with WP 5.7@nomadcoder Actually I DO have a staging area and it shouldn’t be costly for clients to retain a space for an extra directory with an installation in it to test – that’s true.
In fact, I did it in reverse last night and in hindsight shouldn’t have. I used staging to help me find the errors to fix on Live (what was I thinking ugh)As for the block editor, I understand it in concept, but think it’s premature in theory. It should be tested and retested before being implemented imho.

In reply to: [Featured Image Pro Post Grid] Known Issues with WP 5.7@nomadcoder I think for the future that is what I am going to have to do as well (wait until the next update) because what if even MORE things break than I am able to fix in a few hours? It’s a live site – people are WORKING using it – I can’t afford to have it muck up. I find them (WP) very disappointing to be honest. It makes me miss the old days of coding a site the way it was intended and not be so reliant on an unreliable platform.

In reply to: [Featured Image Pro Post Grid] Known Issues with WP 5.7@nomadcoder That is really who I have issue with – WordPress. They want the block editor to appeal to an audience of people that don’t understand backend much of anything – and in so doing cause issues for everyone that has been using the platform that does.
That and the fact that they put out an update that isn’t ready. smh
An update should make things better… not worse.

In reply to: [Featured Image Pro Post Grid] Known Issues with WP 5.7It was a huge problem for me last night – on our LIVE site – having to hurry and work OT to fix all of the gaping spacing issues that APPEARED after the update. SO frustrating.
WHY, if the block editor is going to be packaged with WP, aren’t these kinds of issues addressed PRIOR to an update? WHY rush?

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Gutenberg widgets block editor is a mess of errorsI don’t understand why you would close it if it isn’t resolved.
I responded to your email but just as an FYI, whenever one comes to support with an issue – there are always too many threads where you FIND your issue, but it is closed without being resolved. (shrug) THAT seems counterproductive doesn’t it?? THEN you have to open a new post with the same issue. WHY?

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Gutenberg widgets block editor is a mess of errorsThank you Paal,
I filled it out – may seem short but it’s the best I can do.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Gutenberg widgets block editor is a mess of errorsHello,
So glad to have found this thread. I’ve been experiencing a LOT of issues with the block editor – WITH pages BUILT with the block editor. Just yesterday I went to edit a page for the company that I work for – a very simple page with the “media block” and the block asks me to try to resolve it – “attempt block recovery”, and then it doesn’t resolve.
I understand this was built in order to provide a ‘simpler interface” for those that do not have backend experience but I find it counterintuitive. In order for me to ‘fix’ a page with errors I would have to learn the syntax the builder is using.. it’s maddening.
Honestly, I try to avoid using it for these reasons. It doesn’t seem ready to have been set out into the wild when it is so buggy.

In reply to: [TI WooCommerce Wishlist] Premium supportI dont understand they are still accepting payment and selling this plugin but you can’t reach support… and they abandoned it? I’m going to dispute it on my charge. NOT happy.
Thank you @guentherludwig this worked!
This is a critical issue. This is a company site.
We really need an explanation for the error message and understanding of why we can’t access settings or see our galleries in the menu in order to edit them. All 3 portfolio galleries are affected.
Awaiting your response.

In reply to: [Storefront] Product and Blog Post ConflictThank you Michael, but we have disabled Jetpack. (it’s bloated and we’re not using next to any of it’s features) Replaced metrics with Monster Insights. I need a better way around it than a plugin – hopefully. (shrug)
Want all of the content to work properly before any window dressing is done and this is definitely a snag.
AND post categories and product category taxonomies is exactly what I am addressing.
I don’t want both on both sections (products and blog posts)
I want the relative choices on the proper sections.

In reply to: [Storefront] STORE FRONT + ELEMENTORHad the same issue – also had it wipe out content.
Disabled it.
Sad because I like it and it seems to have a lot of power with fast page speeds but what I can’t afford is conflicts or losing data – it’s a company site.Hi
Thanks for responding. Found the issue, had a lot to do with our recent host migration.
