no plugins. and apparently i can’t add any screenshots at this point.

but it’s pretty simple: if i add elements to a template, they are not available to edit. they appear to be static features that appear when viewing the page. so i can’t add an image block, for example, into which to add whatever image fits a page. it appears i’ll have to recreate the same elements on every page because templates appears to not be a thing yet.

i am having a similiar problem. I create a new template then apply it to a new Page. None of the template’s blocks show up when editing, but, when viewing, they do appear (but with the same content as in template editing). If I create a new Post, the default template is used, but no blocks are applied.

No plugins. Using Twenty Twenty-two. Everything updated. Basically unusable.

I have a similar problem (posted in this forum as “New template “applied” blocks missing when editing”). I create a new template & then apply it to a new Page. When editing, no blocks appear; save the Page & the template blocks do appear. Templates are not being applied when editing but somehow the blocks appear in View (albeit in their templatey form). It’s pretty frustrating.

I was using a caching plugin that took away that function for me. I’d suggest looking in that direction. Another caching plugin caused me another template-related issue.

same problem exists for non-WP-developed themes. the message “make your site look exactly like you want” does not include “use the fonts you want”. unless you have the skills to hack themes.json etc

does this help? i tried an experiment that seems to work.

i did learn from Jamie Marsland on YT that to create a new template, you create a new page, and from there, instead of assigning an existing template you select “New”. don’t modify that page; just publish & the new template is saved with the rest.

but still no way to delete unwanted templates.

I was about to say the Query Pagination block doesn’t exist, but I just double-checked, and there it is! I’m using 5.8.1, the latest.

It seems you have to pick to have a new block after the Query Template & inside the Query Loop. I kept trying to put it after the Loop itself, but if you pick new block there, the pagination block isn’t available.

they say it’s fixed, but i’m having all kinds of problems. sometimes it will work to the extent of creating a basic pod episode, but you cannot edit it. sometimes the player doesn’t show up. i’ve contacted support repeatedly & they say it’s fixed. what it is right now is too unreliable. they seem clueless about how to live with WP blocks. they seem to have put so much energy into libsyn 5, which i do not care about one tiny bit, that they have let support of the ability to use WP slip into pure shoddiness.

i don’t seem to be able to add images

up-to-date Safari (primary) & Firefox (to double-check).

same problem with both browsers; not a browser problem. 5 years in tech support; i know how to do this.

i think this is a problem when the homepage is set to “your latest posts”. no other page/post has this problem.

i had very few plugins running, but disabled all. no change. Health Check came up fine. still no joy.
