In reply to: Dashboard display incorrect all browsers V2Prior to this problem, did you move WordPress or change the URL settings?
The image is the same as many that have been posted here, usually related to moving wordpress or an incorrect url change.
I have even done a complete re-install of 2.9.2 in a new folder and done a database import from the old installation and it is still the same.
Yes but the old database will still point at any old URLs that were setup, the settings don’t update themselves. If you’re just importing, then chances are you’ve not updated the URL settings to match up with where WordPress is installed.
If you know what phpMyAdmin is, load it up, bring up your WordPress database, browse the options table, and look for the two rows with the option names ..
site_url
andhome
…Once you know what those 2 values are, post them here.

p.s. the link you provided above has a comma on the end, but without it’s working on the first load of the page just fine.

In reply to: Plugins.php not foundYes, did this. When all plugins were removed, the plugins.php page loaded and disabled them all when it didn’t find them. However, if I put any plugin back into the folder, plugins.php fails to load again… even hello dolly, and even though it’s disabled.
How about the entries in the database for plugins….
There are a few in the options table, then there may also be (depending on plugins) extra tables in the database. If a problem resides in the tables, then it may not be a problem with file code per say, but with a corruption in left over entries in the DB…
Check your tables, see if any are in need of repair…
I could be totally off the mark here, but there’s no mention above of you dropping or examining anything in the database… so perhaps worth a mention… ??

In reply to: How to remove “Private” from private pages?Don’t fiddle with core files..
The code posted by myself works. I’ve explained how to use it, just read the post(s).
Upload fresh copies of any WordPress core files (files not in the Themes or Plugins folders) that you have modified.

In reply to: [Gallery] shortcode column problem…A link to both your sites, preferably to pages that have [gallery] inserted images might be a good place to start…
Sounds to me like you need to add the CSS for the gallery elements…
Since not everyone uses the [gallery] functionality the necessary classes are not written in the stylesheet as standard..
