Esmi Thanks a TON for helping me out here…

I got it resolved. There was a system backup what was setup which I was not aware of. The backup took all the server space which is why the recent backup didn’t go through, thus this error.

I deleted the backups and made space on the server and things seem to work fine now..

Did not add any new plugins or made any changes to my existing theme.. i’ve been using this theme since more than a year now.. never had a problem with it.

I am in the process of contacting them too. Trying to zero down on the issue.

When I see it in IE and FF it is showing fine… but Chrome shows me error!

This is ultra strange… any suggestions before ruling WP out for the error.

Additional Info:

I am running on WP2.8.5…

I just replaced the “Index.php” from the backup but no help.

Issue resolved by editing .htaccess

I should have looked into earlier.. but I thought just updating the permalinks from the admin was enough.. it clearly wasnt enough when the permissions are not set to write.

I did not follow the first article you sent but did make changes to the database according the the second one..

One of the plugins was causing the issue, “Comment Relish” to be specific.

Removed the plugin and issue is solved now.

If you still have your DB intact, just put the directory “wp-content” and the file “wp-config.php” back into the installation and it should work like it use to.

I would recommend copying the values from wp-config.php and adding it to the new one instead of replacing as the config file that comes with the latest versions have some additional information such as security keys, etc..

I’d suggest removing all the other themes other than the default theme folders from wp-content/themes directory.

Read through.. wish I read it earlier. Had similar issues with my host.. they suggested I turn my Php safemode off, but that didn’t help either.. changed the hosting to Linux..

BernardBorealis right on target. I have been following half of the things you suggested based on my own experience.. but learned a lot more just by reading your comment..

by the way.. my blog was also put down for heavy memory usage but now that I am on Media Temple.. things are little less hectic!

Just downloaded the latest version of WP and inserting images in the post still does not work.

In addition I also think some of the malfunctions are also related to the post editors we use. For example.. I use Editor monkey and Inserting links in the post which the plugin is a pain in the neck.

Please let us know if there is any solution for inserting images.
