Did this ever resolve? I just started having the same trouble with text disappearing in Chrome. It re-appears usually on page refresh. But if browser cache is emptied, away it goes.

Thank you for that. However, I am using Genesis with a child theme, and if I add your code to my child theme’s functions.php file, it breaks the site (“internal server error”). Under “no circumstances” am I supposed to modify the Genesis functions file!

Any ideas ???

Thank you for your reply. I had tried using the Google Viewer, but ran into a couple of problems. It would not load PDFs at all on certain sites, and it also would not allow active links within the PDF itself to work.

I basically gave up on the FancyBox solution and created a separate link for mobile and tablet users. Not an elegant solution but works ok.

Since it was 2 months ago, you don’t really expect me to remember do you? I think it was a couple of plugins using Javascript.

Were you able to come up with a solution? Pretty much the same thing happened to me on https://www.sonoranglass.org

I went and downloaded a fresh version of the theme and reloaded the comments.php file. Now it is not showing the html area so thats weird.

I forgot to mention that I tried that one too. Gave it another shot but no success.

Well, I tried replacing the comment_form code with the default in comments.php, but is still displaying.
I used:
<?php comment_form(); ?>

I’ve found that installing a plugin is needed to back up the WP database…however your hosting server may have the ability to allow a restore of the database. (Not that it helped me.)
