Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [CSS & JavaScript Toolbox] cjtoolbox won't load!!I like this so much I just bought a license in hopes that you will support this request. I am not in a position to upgrade right now. I run a website for the performing arts department in our local school and we are in the middle of the school year running our programs and fundraisers, so I cannot afford to have significant downtime with this web site, which is why I am sticking with wordpress 3.4.1 for now. If you can give me any help I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.
OK. I went through the exercise of disabling all of my other plugins and found that the WP Online Store was the culprit. Fortunately I am not using that. It would be nice if we could figure out why. I am using wordpress 3.4.1, the latest and greatest all-in-one calendar (the 1.9.4 standard downloaded from the web site yesterday) and wp online store v1.3.1.
Any ideas. I love the calendar, but I would also love to be able to use the WP online store.
Thanks.
Hi. I am having this problem as well. I am waiting for a backup by other means because I don’t want to touch the site again until it is backed up as the site was destroyed yesterday by a bad plugin.
Anyway, a nice addition to this plugin might be some kind of error report if something doesn’t go well. As it is, it is reporting to me that backups have gone well even though I know otherwise, and there is no way for me to fix it unless I get some information. Could you put this on your list of enhancements?
I am going to try the .htaccess modification as soon as my backup is done. I have checked wp-config.php to see if there is a DISABLE_WP_CRON in there and it is not.
I also purchased the email notification and it does not seem to work. I click the check and give it an email address, but it just comes back with the example email address that is in there to start with.
Oh well,.
This is odd. I noticed that it works consistently on my mobile device (iphone or ipad) when I click on the folder icon, but when I click on the “link” (the category) that is when it doesn’t work correctly.
Same problem here on iPhone and iPad.
ok. Since this seems to be some kind of permission problem (works as logged in admin, doesn’t work as anonymous user) I went and started disabling plugins that I had installed that restrict access to things. The first plugin I disabled (Front End User) seemed to do the trick.
However, I am going to wait before I mark this as resolved, and test this over a few days to make sure that the problem with the sidebar calendar does not pop up again.
Additionally, I had been looking into creating a client area. Hopefully this won’t become a problem/conflict with restricting access to certain pages.
I seem to be making progress in isolating the circumstances under which this problem happens. If I am logged in as a wordpress administrator, the problem goes away, even in firefox. When I log out and am just a user, the problem happens.
I can make this happen consistently.
Any ideas?
Sorry for all of the posts. I take that back about firefox. Logging in to the site as an administrator and refreshing the feed (from firefox) clears the problem in firefox. I don’t know for how long though.
More as I experiment with this.
Ok. One more thing. I log in as an administrator and refresh the feed(s) and that seems to clear up the problem EXCEPT in firefox. Firefox doesn’t work in any case.
Also, I have custom sidebars with different feeds going to different instances of the upcoming events list and the ajax calendar grid. For example, I have the home page with the 2 widgets. On the home page, the calendar grid has its own feeds, and the upcoming events list has its own feeds. Then I have the Percussion Ensemble page with a different sidebar. It has both widgets each with their own separate feeds.
I don’t know if that is pertinent.
Hi. Now it seems to be happening with other browsers (IE, Safari, Chrome, but no intermediate step like described above for firefox. It just goes to a blank window and hangs.
Does anybody have any clues about this? I really like this plugin and want to keep it!!
Thank you.
Thanks. I had re-enabled wpng plugin and apparently that caused my problems. Now that I have disabled it both ubermenu and google calendar events are working flawlessly on all of my pages,
Thanks!
Now I have to change the status again to unresolved. Hopefully you can help me figure this out. I have something called “ubermenu”. It is the secondary nav menu, under the black nav bar near the top of the page. When I check “Add JavaScript to footer” in the Google Calendar Events settings. It now works on the home page (which is a static home page) and none of the other pages. Additionally, the ubermenu works only on the home page. When I uncheck “Add JavaScript to footer”, the ajax calendar widget tooltips don’t display anywhere, on any page., but that fixes the ubermenu which then works on all pages. There is some kind of conflict going on. I think it has to do with jquery.
Do you have any thoughts or suggestions on how to debug this?
Thanks.
Me again. I think I have my problems resolved now. I checked ‘Add JavaScript to footer’ in the Google Calendar Events setting panel. That seemed to do the trick.
I have used the event display builder to change my displays and it looks great! I think this is the calendar plugin for me, and I have tried a LOT of them. It looks good and is very functional. I love that it does not have to redisplay the entire page again just to go to a new month in the widget. It seems to be very cross-browser compatible.
I have it working at https://clipperband.org. I think it will be very useful for us. I am picking up a number of calendar feeds and displaying the events there. Each feed will be maintained by the person responsible for a specific group’s calendar.
The only wish I have for this now is to be able to retrieve events from a few months in the past, and display starting from today. The event list seems to want to display from where I started retrieving data.
Thank you!! I love this plugin.
I have to change this to not resolved again. Too bad. It was working nicely on my test page. Now that I have it on the home page it is broken again. When it loads, I get this error message:
jQuery(this).qtip is not a function
[Break On This Error] style: { padding: “0”, classes: { t…ip-active’ }, border: { width: 0 } }
gce-script.js (line 38)From firebug. Can anybody help? The page is https://clipperband.org.
Thanks.
ok. Resolved. It was some interference with another calendar plugin. I had quite a few downloaded and activated. If anybody is interested I can try to narrow it down. I had loaded the clipperband test page into mozilla/firefox and used firebug on it. Firebug was reporting some “thickbox” javascript (or maybe jquery?) error. It seems to be working now that I have gotten rid of the other calendar plugins.
Thanks!!
