I don’t need to start a new thread, as I supplied a answer to silverkis.
But you are right, both you and me should have known better than to reply to a new question in an old thread :p

In reply to: How to remove HTML tags in WP commentsThank you very much for your suggestion, catacaustic ??
The “problem” is this: when I upgrade WordPress I edit the kses.php to fit my needs; removing some allowed tags and add some. Editing WPs core files is never a good idea, so I hoped there was a way to do this via a php snippet in the functions.php file.

If you know how to make a guest password for your hosting account, I can help you to FTP “install” version 2.1 of this plugin – for free.
Or if you have Skype I can guide you to FTP this yourself (via Skypes “share screen”).

In reply to: Wp-admin Password Protected DirectoryThis system file ( .htaccess ) is very “delicate” and may act difrently from server to server.
Are you sure that the file you found is located in the wp-admin folder? If yes, then maybe you can try this:
# BEGIN WordPress # END WordPress <Files 403.shtml> order allow,deny allow from all </Files> <Files "admin-ajax.php"> order allow,deny allow from all </Files>

In reply to: Wp-admin Password Protected DirectoryLet me reply as low tech as possible ??
If you can FTP to your servers (or get access via Control Panel) then try to open up for example NOTEPAD (windows program), copy and paste this in:
<Files admin\-ajax\.php> order allow,deny allow from all </Files>
And save as this file name: .htaccess
Then transfer the file to you wp-admin and hopefully it will work (let your visitors read your posts without being asked for a username and password).
If everything goes wrong, just delete the file same file you uploaded.
If you feel unsure: contact your webhosts customer service ??
Good luck!
