In reply to: Admin User and Menu Ganked@kevinhaig – Thanks for the idea. After checking I can confirm that the metakey prefix’s have the exact prefix of database, including caps.
I should mention that iTunes is working fine.

In reply to: Comment Security HoleHrm. Good to know. Thanks!
Of course, wouldn’t it be logical that if you have to have an email with a comment [assuming you aren’t registered] the WP system would be able to invalidate multiple uses of the same screenname?
Perhaps this is something that can be worked out in an upcoming release, say by building the impostercide plugin into the core.
Anyway, thanks!

In reply to: Doubled up URLI’m still looking for a solution, so if anyone has Ideas I’d love to hear ’em.

In reply to: Plugins won't update; manual update questionsSorry. Just noticed this thread was still active. As far as process, I typically deactivate and then manually [FTP] my plugin updates.
Occasionally you may find that it’s easier to FTP the permissions to 777 for wp-content/plugins if you do not want to try and manually update. This ‘sometimes’ works.
Still, it’s safer to download a fresh install of the plugin and then just copy past the whole thing folder by folder in to the old plugin folder. If you delete the old one and then copy the new version in, you run into having to occasionally redo all your settings.

In reply to: [Plugin: Broken Link Checker] Activation causes Admin side of site to crashThe updated version of WordPress seems to have cleared up the issue. Broken Link Checker now works with my current install. Closing this thread.

In reply to: [Plugin: Broken Link Checker] Activation causes Admin side of site to crash[error] File does not exist: root/allisondduncan.com/function.require
That’s the only error on the error log for my site. I’m not sure if that’s because I disabled the plugin or if that’s related to something else.
As to the delay, it sits there and cycles but doesn’t do anything. It will go the url I posted earlier, then when I hit F5 it cycles to the browser error message. Delays can be quick or lengthy so I’m not sure if it’s my server or the plugin.
Hope it helps, and for what it’s worth thanks for getting back to me so fast ??

In reply to: Plugins won't update; manual update questionsFor what it’s worth I’ve had plugin update issues like this since updating from WP 2.8. It’s pretty much agiven with my main site that I have to FTP update everything. The weird part is that the other sites [same server, same WP type, same permissions] don’t seem to have this issue at all. I’m stumped as to why.

In reply to: Fatal error: Call to undefined function populate_options()That worked. Thanks a treat, ipstenu.

In reply to: Feedburner and Feed Not workingFor what it’s worth, I am still trying to resolve this issue. I can’t do the yahoo pipeline hack because I’m not willing to get into the mess that seems to create if you choose to change stuff later.
I’m not seeing anything on Feedburner’s known issues blog either. I’ve run the feed validators and it seems my feed is pretty much A-ok. So what gives? Still looking for a WP guru who might be able to help.

In reply to: Feedburner and Feed Not workingJust an update to say that I’m still dealing with this problem and have had no love from feedburner on this issue. Still waiting for a GURU to ride in on their shiny code and help ??

In reply to: RSS feed issueFor what it’s worth, I took out the Feedsmith plugin and the feed is now working in Google Reader as well as the Facebook rss reader. I have no idea if it’s feedburner or the Feedsmith Plugin causing the problem, but disabling the plugin seems to have solved part of the problem.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Feedburner and Feed Not workingThe feed is working because feedsmith was disabled. I don’t think it’s a plugin problem because i re-enabled feedsmith and the feed still seems to be working though it does not seem to be redirecting to the feedburner xml page.
I checked feedburner itself and am still getting the error message that was in my original post.
I’m still operating under the assumption that this is a feedburner problem and not a WP or wp-plugin problem. What I need to know is if that assumption is correct. Most of my dissemination of my feed goes through feedburner, so if there’s a way to correct this issue on my end I need to find out.

In reply to: Can’t approve commentsI don’t know if my problem is caused by this or not, but my comments aren’t even hitting the que to be approved. I have an admin accnt and a test accnt. When posting comments to the post page or the main blog page, the comments are accepted and no errors are sent. But when you log in as an admin, there’s nothing in the que at all.
Also, no emails show up either. Didn’t have this issue in 2.7.1 …not that I had a lot of comments but at least it worked.

In reply to: wp-security-scan – error message – file.perms….That function is for Linux operating systems only. Windows file permissions don’t work the same.
Since 99.999999% of the web servers which will be running WordPress (and WP Security Scan) are ‘nix operating systems, this plugin doesn’t currently support Windows for OS specific functions.
I’m a newbie at the wordpress game much less linux. Can you verify that I’m understanding you correctly that this error [which I too, am getting] can indeed be fixed in Ubuntu?
At the moment I’m using a Vista PC to access my server, which is Linux [Ubuntu]. I’ve found permission errors with the OS’s not liking each other. Is this error due to that?
