In reply to: Twenty Fourteen "Nothing found" Homepage, but no sticky posts? After going through the “deactivate all plugins” step, I’m reasonably sure that it has something to do with Polylang or the Twenty Fourteen theme itself. When I deactivated Polylang, everything came together on one home page and, somehow, it seems that the French post was not considered a “featured” post, even though it had that tag. Maybe it has something to do with how Polylang links 2 different translations of the same post? The only issue I have is that I do not know whether Twenty Fourteen is supposed to allow “featured” posts to appear in the main content area as well as the slider by default, especially since I just started using the slider yesterday. Does anyone know what the default settings for “featured” posts are in Twenty Fourteen?

In reply to: 403 Error – No Access At All?Thanks a bunch for the reply. I’ll wait and see what my host says. So far, all I’ve got is 2 identical replies in a row along the lines of “I’ve tested your site and it’s working fine. Please check it on your end and tell me if there are any other issues.”
In the meantime though, I’m already preparing to move to another (free, because I’m not ready to fork out cash just yet. This site is more of an experiment.) host which has quite a few good reviews, even though the allotted disk space is smaller. I’m planning on trying Host-ed. Any thoughts on that? I’ve had a mod tell me previously that free hosting’s not recommended, and I understand that, but for now, I’m just looking for the best free host I can get.

In reply to: Error 404 after changing hostHmm… I see. Well, never mind then, it’s just that I personally don’t have the budget for hosting, even the cheaper kind. However, the main reason why I was willing to change to this host is because they explicitly promised WordPress support on their features section.
In any case, for anyone who has looked at this thread and considered responding or has responded: Thank you very much for your time. My website is now up and running, even when accessed from my local IP address. I believe that there was some DNS propagation slow down, maybe due to a rather large number of nameservers? In future, if such issues occur, perhaps I’ll just have more patience and wait it out first… Thank you all, once again! I really appreciate your recommendations!
