Hi @kscl,
Good day to you, and thanks for taking the time to try out Super Web Share plugin.
First of all, we would like to thank you for the kind words.
At this moment, our plugin picks up the meta tags and URL from the page at which the share button is showing. We understand your requirement well, and we noticed some issues while trying to implement this functionality within the native share button. Don’t worry; this feature is within our development roadmap, and we will try our best to fix the issues we have noticed before implementing this within the plugin.
Thank you so much for your attention and also for sharing your thoughts. Keep an eye on our future releases.
Hi Daniel,
Good day to you!
Thanks for the feature request, and we added it to our internal tool. We have some plans to include the feature, as you have mentioned, in a different way. But before that, we need to ship some features which need to be released over our plugin to make the plugin accessible for everyone.
Keep an eye over our changelog, and thanks again for the time to share your feedback and suggestion.
Have a great day!
Cool, good to hear that that issue is resolved.
Kindly please do support our small plugin.
Have a great day!
Good to hear that.
The image is showing perfectly on Facebook too.
See:
https://ibb.co/0rgmc3R
https://ibb.co/kMFVThGThe description won’t be shown on Facebook like as on WhatsApp, on Facebook it only shows the description within the preview.
Moreover, it’s fully up to the decision of these social platforms to show the meta property we push. And we cannot force those, our web share API plugin helps to pull Title, description, and URL to the apps/ platforms to pick the ones they do support.
We just checked the links after scraping the URLs within the Facebook debugger and noticed that the image is showing now while sharing on WhatsApp.
Kindly please check this : https://ibb.co/W378VgK
Good day!
When we checked the page you have shared with we noticed that the
og:image
which you have added on the site is not a valid one and didn’t meet the guidelines of Facebook Open Graph. The image which shows on the WhatsApp, Facebook are taken up from theog:image
meta property. So kindly please change the image to meets the guidelines of Facebook or else use plugins like Yoast SEO to addog:image
to each page (once after removing the current og: the image you have added). We also debugged the page on Facebook debugger, you can find out the report here
It also says the “Image Too Small”
Provided og:image URL, https://gramsetu.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Gramsetu-Logo-e1614937828444.png was not valid because it did not meet the minimum size constraint of 200px by 200px.
Hi @wenlu
Good to hear that it’s working when clicking on the icon. Sorry to let you know that the prompt not working while clicking on the word is a bug from our end and would be fixed in the next release.
Thanks a lot!
Hi @wenlu
It is good to hear that increasing the button’s bottom position helped resolve the issue you have faced.
Regarding the Button on the desktop, can you please try to click on the Share Icon and confirm whether any window is showing up or not?
(Please don’t click on the word Share, just on the icon would be great to confirm this issue)
Hi @evilblaze
As another user creates the thread, can you please create a new ticket on our plugin’s support forum? Create a new topic at here.
Please don’t feel bad, as we believe replying to another user’s thread is a bad practice, and it’s against the guidelines we believe.
I hope you will create one so that we can discuss more on this.
As for the background issue which you have mentioned within the screenshot, you need to increase the position of the button, from bottom to about 60px.
We do provided an option to easily set this, from the WordPress dashboard, just go to Super Web Share > Floating > within the Position from Bottom set the value to 60 and click Save Settings.
Please let us know the result once after updating it to 60px.
Also, I can see it on my desktop. Is it normal? Can I make it only available on mobile or tablet device?
Yes, its an expected behavior. The button is showing on the Desktop as the API is supported on the desktop browser which you are using. If the browser won’t support the API the button won’t be shown. Right now, we added the feature to help everyone to easily prompt the native share on the API supported devices. We will surely consider your feature request.

Hello @evilblaze
Thanks for trying out Super Web Share. Over the default WebView, the share button won’t show up at this moment as WebView most of the phones are using somewhat a very old WebView version. The newly released WebView version is supporting the Native Web Share.
Kindly please note that most of the apps have an inbuilt WebView; in those cases, the WebView is controlled by those specific apps. In that specific case, the native web share won’t show up as the API is not yet supported over it. On none supported browsers you will see the share button for a fraction of second like you have mentioned.
Regarding the showing up of button at right and not working over the left is a bug, we’re planning to fix this in the coming version. Keep an eye over our changelog.
Hello @rashedhammad
Hope you are doing great. Unfortunately the share button won’t show on web view at this moment. (upon latest Android web view versions, I noticed that share button is showing well, but regarding other apps web view most of them are not yet supported till this moment). We are working on a fallback option to overcome this and it will be available mostly within our upcoming version.
