Definitely still happens with the API registered.
I tried to recover the Popup using the trick mentioned in another thread here:
going to the position of the popup, one can discover the … code intside of some of the fields there, and remove it. This fixes the message, but it still won’t work:

Could probably recover it through database, but otherwise need to create a new popup.
Still not sure what breaks it.

In reply to: [Brown Paper Tickets] Error Activating pluginIt was 5.3, but I just changed it to 5.5, and 5.6 does the same thing.
Was running older version of wordpress, but updated to 4.6.1 still has the same error.
Site has very few plugins: Only Updraft, Advanced CSS editor (installed after error was produced for unrelated reasons) and Contact Form 7. None of these should be causing any issues as they’re well maintained, unrelated, and/or minor. All are up to date.
Platform Type Debian (not sure about version number, could poke around more to find it I bet)
PHP Version 5.6When you say it was related when parsing “underscore html template”, do you mean the bit of html after the closing code in the PHP file? It does seem like that’s the issue as line 181 is a var that’s after the closing php code. Not sure how that works, but it does seem to be the issue.
Perhaps another crack? Maybe I’ll read-up though I’m like 90% lay when it comes to php.

Missing forward slash at end of document root in apache’s site-available….
Well, I re-cleared the database of all bp- tags I could find (site meta didn’t have any), re-enabled it for the subnetworks (but not he sites), and new users added to each subnetwork are still visible between subnetworks ??
Any thoughts?
Ok, now I see where the must use category is for plugins.
When re-enabling buddypress, should i do this on the sub-network, then the sub-site?
Or only the Network?
I think the instructions could stand to be a little clearer.
I noticed it was installed in the plugins directory. I removed that install manually leaving it only inthe mu-plugins folder.
New members still dont’ work.
Perhaps when re-enabled Budypress installs the plugin wasn’t functioning?
