If the shipping destination is within the state of Texas, then yes, it would be taxed, and the amount would be $23.70, but if the shipping destination to another state in the US, outside of Texas, then it is not taxed and would be 21.90. The default shipping/tax options in Woocommerce allow for this setup, and it doesn’t have any problem switching tax on/off depending on the destination address.

I see, thank you for your help. There’s one problem, however: Sales tax IS charged for all orders, including shipping, that are shipped within state borders. As you can see, woocommerce knows we’re in Texas, and it bases whether or not to charge sales tax on the shipping destination. If it’s going anywhere within the state of Texas, it’s taxed, everywhere else, it isn’t. I tried unchecking the “taxable” option in my shipping setup, but that simply turns off all shipping taxes.

The expected shipping cost is $21.90
The shipping class is “Medium”

Thanks for getting back to me and for all of your help. I apologize for the broken link and it should be working correctly now. The good news is that I’m getting a value for the shipping cost in Google Merchant Center! The bad news is that the value is not correct. I’ve updated the example page with the latest images of how things are set up and working at the moment. There are captions underneath each image to explain further.

Thank you for your response. I tried again to get the right shipping rate to appear on Google, but no luck. Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us. It is Google not accepting formula’s unfortunately.

Thanks for the help! Would there be a way to calculate the value of the formula and print the value in a new field, then map that to the shipping value that Google wants? For example: a $100 item with a 10% shipping charge in Woocommerce would yield a value of $10, if I put $10 into the feed and have Google read that value, it would technically be correct, although not derived from the formula. I also know that If I change the formula at any point, I have to go in and recalculate/print the new values into the feed.

I recently decided to try a workaround since this company seems to have no interest in responding to this issue. So far, it seems to be working.

*DISCLAIMER: The following is simply a report of steps I’ve taken to resolve the issue that has (so far) worked for my site. I am absolutely NOT responsible for any issues you encounter trying this for yourself and am not offering advice or support in any way. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Here’s what I did:
1. Backed up my site. ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR WEBSITE BEFORE TRYING SOMETHING NEW!

2. I used the export product function built into Woocommerce to export my “smart bundle” products into a .csv file.
a. When you export the products, make sure you target ONLY the smart bundles, not your simple products.
b. export all columns for the products
b. Also, don’t forget to check the “export all metadata” box before exporting. This smart bundle plugin adds metadata that references the simple products that make up the smart bundle, and that needs to be preserved.
c. I copy/pasted my .csv of exported smart bundles and renamed one “smart-bundle_backup.csv” This way, if something goes wrong, I can simply reimport my products and get back to square one.

3. Woocommerce only cares about the ID number when making products, and continues to assign ever-increasing numbers to your products, even if you delete products. It never uses the same number twice. Leveraging this fact to my advantage, I deleted all of the values in the “ID” column of my .csv file.
a. I now have an excel file with (as far as woocommerce is concerned) brand new products, ready to upload and receive their new ID number, but first, we have to remove the existing versions of the products.

4. I used a plugin to put my site into “maintenance mode” so that customers would be temporarily blocked while I made these changes. You could also use a staging site, but this fix is quick enough that I didn’t feel it was worth the effort.

5. Once my site was in maintenance mode, I selected all of the existing smart bundles on the products page (the same ones that I exported into the .csv) and I moved them to the trash, then deleted them from Woocommerce.

6. Now, your product library should be completely devoid of smart bundles, while your simple products remain untouched (having the same ID numbers).

7. I then imported my .csv of “new” smart bundles (the old smart bundles with the IDs stripped from them), and made sure that the “Existing products that match by ID or SKU will be updated. Products that do not exist will be skipped.” was UNchecked.
a. This tells woocommerce to “recreate” these products with all of the same data, including the referenced ID numbers of the existing simple products that make up the smart bundles.

8. That’s it! The “new” products have the same data, and reference the same simple products in their metadata. Other than the change in the ID number for your smart bundles, nothing else should be different, and you can now turn off your maintenance mode and let people back on to your site.

Has there been a fix for this problem yet? I submitted a support ticket on July 29th, and I have yet to get a solution and the last reply was on August 4th. I still am having problems, and it’s costing me time and money!

I’m having a similar problem. Several of my bundles products that are in stock can’t be purchased by the customer because it tells them there aren’t enough in stock on the very last step of checkout. They can buy the individual products no problem, but some bundles randomly stopped working.

So far, it appears that the steps taken by @ihealthcareanalyst are helping keep our usage within tolerable levels. It’s still a bit high for my comfort, but manageable. I’m also working with Elementor tech support to address this because it seems like that is having its own issues.

Thank you for your responses! I’m going to try the suggestion by @ihealthcareanalyst first and monitor the site, as that seems a bit simpler to implement. I’ll let you all know how it goes.
