Thanks for your feedback. It seems the plugin was having some issues, the version number was not correct with reality and hence did not update for some time. Removing the plugin and installing the latest version fixed it. Thanks for your help!

We have the legitimate?plugin. However, seems the plugin had some issues, because the version number did show correctly on the Details page, but not on the Plugins page. Checking the changelog learned it didn’t update since version 1.5.X.

Removing it entirely and reinstalling solved the problem, and the error message is gone. Thanks for your help.

Version 9.5.2?– seems to be the latest? We are still getting the same error message, that your plugin is not ready for the upgrade.

Thanks for your fast reply.

I noticed that on other installations we have for some of our clients, where we use iThemes Security, the xmlrpc.php has been disabled via .htaccess. So we decided to do the same for this particular domain that runs with Wordfence.

Thanks for pointing this out, hopefully the login attempts will now be reduced to 0.
