You’re totally right, I didn’t realise that plugin over-rode that functionality.
I’ve disabled that plugin to test if it works as it should, and it DOES!

Sorry was on vacation, but ended up finding an answer on stackoverflow where i posted similar, and here was the answer in case anyone else has the same issue:

{
display:none!important;
}

I have this very same problem, did you find a fix?
