Update … Finally found the solution elsewhere online – to delete the folder from wp-content/plugins altogether via FTP or CPanel, then reinstall.

I also learned that all the configuration settings and data are stored in the WP SQL database – so all were restored as soon as the plugin was re-installed.

Posting this update just in case anyone else encounters the same issue. ??

Brilliant – thank you! ?? Version 3.1.5 installed, with no problems – and WP Jump Menu is working perfectly again.

Looks like it must have that line of code that was the problem after all – and your shot in the dark was perfectly on target. ??

Many thanks for such a fast response!

I’m also interested in the answer to this question. I haven’t yet installed and tried the plugin. Although I understand I can whitelist my own IP, I can’t do that for all subscribers and don’t want all the other legitimate users locked out. ??

Thanks Jeff for your fast response. With 6.3.8 TML is working again exactly as it should, to my delight. ??

Thanks for an excellent plugin that, until the latest update this morning (6.3.7) worked exactly as it is intended. However since this update I’m experiencing the same problem others have mentioned here.

When logged out, the site navigation is as it should be.

But when logged in to admin, any attempt to view any page of the site (e.g. from the ‘visit site’ link, preview post, view page etc) redirects to my profile page. Only happening since upgrading this morning to 6.3.7.

It is not a clash with any other installed plugins, as I deactivated all except TML and experienced exactly the same issue.

Is it perhaps something I need to change in TML settings, since the new update?

Any help in fixing the issue will be very much appreciated! ??

    Many thanks.

    Hi Zack

Apologies for the delay in replying. Many thanks for that!! I’m glad to know it wasn’t something I was messing up that meant the plugin wasn’t working. ?? I’ll delete that again from our site and amend the code, as you suggested.

Thanks again – your help is very much appreciated!

    Cheers

Hi Zack .. many thanks for that.

But .. hmmmm … now I’m puzzled because that’s precisely one of the ways I entered the code when I tried the plugin the first time – putting edcal_default_time in the name field and 08:00 in the value field (with a couple of words in the label field to remind me what the option was aout). And it didn’t work.

I also deactivated and re-activated the Editorial Calendar plugin, in case that would make a difference.

But still no luck. A a new post still always comes up with the default time of 10:00.

So I’m back to square one. I’m not sure what’s blocking the customs options plugin from working to change the editorial calendar time code.

I’m on WordPress 3.5.1 by the way, using the Thesis theme – 1.8.5.

I may need to test plugins to see if one of them is somehow causing the problem – but will have to wait until I have a bit of time to go through that process.

If you have any ideas or suggestions, I’d be very grateful – but if not, don’t worry.

Not having to change the time for each new post would be good, but it’s a relatively minor nuisance after all. ??

Thanks for a fantastic plugin by the way! There are two of us adding posts to our blog, so it’s a wonderful help to manage who’s doing what and when!

    Cheers

Hi Zack … I came across this post because I was also looking for a way to change the default schedule time for new posts.

I searched for ‘wordpress options’ plugins and found a couple – but after installing and testing each of them, I didn’t know what code should be inserted and couldn’t get them to work for me.

For example, with the “Custom Options Plus” plugin there were three fields to complete to add a custom option – “Label”, “Name” and “Value” and although I tried a few things, none of them worked for me.

I’m by no means an expert with php or how to write code, so any advice you could offer would be much appreciated. ??

    Many thanks!

Since updating to WP 3.4, the Testimonials admin options have completely disappeared from my dashboard also. Although the pre-exisiting testimonials are still visible on the site, there is no access in WP admin to manage them – add, edit or delete either the testimonials or the groups.

Unless there’s a fix to this, I’ll have to consider deleting the plugin and trying something else. ??

I hope we can get a fix soon!

I also am having problems with some password protected pages. Theme My Login takes the visitor to the My Profile page, instead of to the page they wanted to view and for which they’d entered the password – even though I’ve set the configuration to ‘referer’.

These are NOT pages that require user registration on our site. They are either collections of photos from a session with a client organisation, or some specific resources created for one of the workshops we offer. So they’re not for public viewing, but for a specific client. We don’t require users to register on our site, but give the client a simple password to access the page.

However we ARE using Theme My Login to protect our dashboard from prying eyes when users register for our shop – so unable to deactivate it for that reason.

If anyone can help with this issue, that would be great! ??

Also deactivated here … hopefully there will be an update soon to fix the issue! It’s a good plugin. Broken in WP 3.4, though was working fine before.

It didn’t spit out error messages on my site – just made some other plugins (eg WP Jump Menu) inoperable and broke drag and drop options for other admin areas – theme and plugin options pages etc.

Hi Zack … no problem. ??

As I said, I was working on the site FAR too late at night I think. My brain was not at its best.

However I do agree it could be a good idea to have the link appearing more prominently on the page. That way people – even in their slower-witted moments – are less likely to miss it. ??

    Arrgh! My apologies! Problem solved.

I somehow missed the ‘add new’ link for the Mad Mimi feeds. Obviously it’s FAR too late for me to be working on this .. ??

I couldn’t delete my original post, unfortunately so am adding this note.

    Cheers

Not sure if you’ve already found an answer – or if this will help you – but here is a solution I found for the ‘too many redirects’ error when changing our site’s home page to a static page instead of the posts page.

    Hi again Rich,

I forgot to ask again about the settings – and why they are preserved in WordPress, even if the plugin is deactivated and deleted – ie my question about why they are still there after doing that and reinstalling/reactivating. I would have assumed that deactivating and deleting the plugin should remove settings from the WP database as well and it would have default settings when reinstalled – but apparently that is not the case?

Many thanks for any light you can also shed on this one. ?? I couldn’t find anything in the Wapple forums about this either – though might have missed something, in which case I apologise.

    Cheers
    Sue
