In reply to: Please Review My Foodie WebsiteThanks for the suggestions British Traveler. I disabled the geolocation request (not needed and a privacy issue) and removed the top tagline from all the pages.

In reply to: Please Review My Foodie WebsiteThanks for the critique Rushin. The blue color (actually Turquoise) is a color used for trim in tan Adobe homes that New Mexico are well known for. So I chose it because it is a color combo known locally. Thanks again!

In reply to: h MAG, Hoboken’s Premiere Lifestyle MagazineStylish, trendy, urbane . . . the perfect compliment for Hoboken (I say that as a lifelong New Yorker who aspires to to stylish, trendy and urbane . . .). My only complaint is a small one. The leading on the body type is so tight I find it a strain to read alot of text, especially on the black background.
Otherwise, a clearly professional and solid offering!

In reply to: Just to introduce “How to” make Chinese delicious food?Thank you for the helpful information! I have bookmarked your site and will be a regular visitor. It is a wonderful way to learn more about your culture and food. If you have the opportunity, can you write an article on what teas you recommend. I would like to go to my local Chinese market and be able to purchase tea. I’d feel lost without a bit of guidance.
Thanks again for a wonderful site.

In reply to: Caribbean Travel & LeisureOooh! The beautiful photos make me want to head to the Caribbean right now! I only have one small observation: The dark blue background of the site is too brooding, and feels lifeless. Why not use the pastel colors of the Caribbean as your background, powder blue or ocean colors that compliment the destination? Make the entire page feel like a beautiful day on the beach!
Now, where is my Pina Colada?

In reply to: Seeking opinions from you old pros :)Honestly, with the high quality of writing that you do, I would select a theme that is simpler with a clean white background. Why? Your current theme is not conducive to reading lots of text. A cleaner simpler theme using a white background is easier on the eyes and provides better contrast for reading blocks of copy. You have a great writing style and much to say. Make it easy for the reader. This WordPress forum design is a good example of a highly legible theme that makes it easier to read lots of content. Keep writing!

In reply to: Photoblog and PortfolioThis site has two great things: Wonderful images and the voice you give to the stories behind the photos. I forgot about the design and became absorbed in the content and photos. I particularly liked the Osaka section of the site.
The one thing that my eye had to fight with was the small type on the black background. The text feels tiny and hard to read. And on your site, I really want to read the content because it is so engaging.
Otherwise it is a wonderful site with a warm personal appeal. I’ve bookmarked this site and plan to return.

In reply to: WordPress magazine theme pageI like the organization and overall presentation. However, the font used for headings and titles feels “skinny and weak” in this bold design. I think a bold sans-sefif font like Arial or Lucida would work better with the overall design. Otherwise, a well executed design!
Good development, coding and organization on this site. Since it is a regional web site, the header should convey clearly by both graphics and text what area your site serves. Also, the footer needs to be compressed. It is too long, and the footer info tends feel lost in that big blue space. With just a few refinements you will have a polished and appealing site!

In reply to: Custom Theme, Tyler Creative .8, what you think? You web design is very energetic and playful and has a unique creative voice. It is the perfect style for a youthful “twenty-something” audience.

In reply to: What do you think about the theme of my own website?Very cool look. I must also agree that you are hurting yourself in the search engines by not having any content on the home page. Good web design today must balance a great look with the requirements of search engines for proper indexing. As a web designer, I know how frustrating that can be!

In reply to: DealTattle.com Launches BlogNice! The header and graphics support the theme of your site very well! I immediately started to look around and see what coupon were available for items I am interested in. I was able to navigate quickly to my interests. The only thing I felt was a bit challenging is the light color of much of the body text against a light colored background. It makes it harder to read and that may discourage readers (especially with poor sight) from lingering too much. Other than that, a well executed design!

In reply to: My WordPress SitesYou are a very capable developer and designer. However, the yellow and black are very strong colors and tend to overwhelm the content, which is well presented. Also, I think the falling snow effect does not help the design. The design has potential but needs to be toned down a bit to be more effective (at least to my admittedly non-expert eye).

In reply to: My Photoshop Tutorial SiteWell done. I like the fact that info that is most likely to be needed by Photoshop novices is linked to at the top of the home page. Nice organization of content!
