All our plans, including the free plan, require a credit card in order to start, and have specific pageview limits and features available to them.
It’s kind of like how you might select an internet service or a phone plan. Depending on the phone or internet package you choose, you might get more lines, gigs of data, or other additional features. We take this same approach with our billing and plan options.
That said, you still have full control of what happens if you do reach those plan limits. As you approach your limits, we’ll send 2 email notifications letting you know what to expect.
If you do not wish to have your service continue when you reach the account’s limits, you can simply set your pageview and upgrade preferences to “Suspend campaigns until pageviews reset at the beginning of the next month.”

I did want to let you know that while we do require a credit card, we never want you to worry about unexpected charges. That’s why you can control when and if your card on file is used within your account settings.

As for accessing other traffic information, we do this in order to show how successful your campaigns are. That way, you can make the best decisions to improve their conversion rate. This conversion rate is calculated by taking the number of people who opted into a pop-up and dividing that by the number of total interactions during a specific time period.
Outside of traffic, our WordPress plugin also extends the functionality of OptinMonster for WordPress users specifically, letting them more easily target pages, posts, categories, tags, and even integrates with other WordPress plugins…but it does require a connection to our app to access the core functionality.

Thanks for bringing your experience to our attention! I’d like to help you have the best experience possible, so let’s see what we can do to turn this around.
I took a look into your account and see our team has been working with you to refund the charges on your account. That refund was processed a few hours ago, so you should see those funds back in your account in 5-10 business days, depending on your bank’s policies.
When an account is fully refunded, it’s placed in a suspended status until a new plan is purchased so the account can be reactivated. I see our team is currently working with you to confirm which subscription level you wanted to continue with.
Once confirmed, you’ll be able to get back into your account and won’t have to restart from scratch.
