Hello mate. I’ve found the updated version of my site – which is really great, as it eliminates all these reported php errors, but all my child theme customisations are gone. I’ve got the old site files backed up, so all good there, but I’ve wasted an entire week trying to find what files I need to edit or replace to make the site look and work the way it did before. Do you know of a manageable way to find the files, or code bits, I need to stick into the updated theme? I’ve asked a few people now and I haven’t found a way, but I can’t go back to the old site as it’ll be a dead duck soon.

I’m really sorry to ask, but I respect your excellence and hope it might be a simple reply for you!?

Brill, thanks so much for replying mate, I really appreciate it. Can I ask you quickly does any of this hinder or penalise the site at all if I don’t fix them? Is Google likely to be p*ssed off about it all, or do they not care? It’s just me running it, and it doesn’t make a penny, so I can’t pay for repairs etc unless it really makes a difference in SERPS etc. Thanks again, Stu.

Thanks so much for your detailed reply above.. It seems your suggestion of making TWO seperate forms to keep the band’s details, but then the band LEADER’S PERSONAL details separate from each other, is the best way to go. Am I right in saying I could just make two forms one after the other on a single webpage, so that the band leader fills in the first form as ‘PART A’: his contact details – name, address, mobile no.. etc, which all gets added to a contacts database for us somehow when he submits it, and then once he submits it, he just continues onto the next paragraph, which is the start of all the band details form? When he then submits that one, it gets added to the website in a preformatted page layout identical to the other site pages..

Is this what you mean?

I’ve tried a few of the well-known social sharing plugins, and am currently using a plugin that runs all the usual hundreds of Social sharing options, but includes an “SMS” button also. I think it only works when the person is searching with their phone. When clicked, it opens a new SMS message with the preferred pre-formatted text and weblink attached. Nothing happens if clicked from a desktop/laptop though, in my experience. It’s a VERY attractive feature, I think, that potential customers can click the SMS button to send to a friend or influential other, to help them with their decisions.

Thanks Adam. I do get some of this, which is good, but to save me having an aneurysm, what might this cost me for you to do for me (also time frame?)? I could prob then tweak the end result if you can get me close enough, if I need to. Sorry to ask – I know you guys must be b.u.s.y.

Hi Adam. Sorry – I didn’t explain it very well! ??

Essentially, viewing the home page on the DESKTOP, those three search boxes are all slightly different widths to begin with, which looks poor to me, so I hoped to resolve that first.. the gaps between are equidistant, so that part is good! When I measure the gaps in Google Inspect Element, they measure 167, 213 and 187px each from left box to right. I’m not too fussed which one is the constant, but if they were all, say, 167px, it would look consistent and uniform. Anyway, then, when I slide the screen in from the right side, it all re-draws and re-sizes – of course as it’s meant to, but only the first box stays centered as it moves and resizes, but the other two don’t react the same way.

I also can’t get the “Your Location” text to align left with its box as the other two correctly do. I hope this is more helpful? I appreciate your input greatly – thank you.

I’m so sorry to trouble you again. If you get a chance, could you please let me know why the three Forminator search boxes on my home page beside the search button refuse to all be the same width? I’ve tried to make them all the same size/width and space evenly, but it’s way beyond me I’m afraid. And also, when I view the home page on different sized screens, those boxes all go weird widths independently of each other and misalign everything, except for the left box, which is a dropdown selection box – it just stays the same width and doesn’t react if I slowly bring the right side of the screen in. Can they all be the same size width, AND resize equally together when a screen size change happens? My site is mobile responsive and everything else responds fine to different screen widths, so it must be my Forminator code that’s wonky, I presume? I’m so sorry to bother you, but after weeks of studying what I can, it’s still way over my head. ??

OMG! Micropat, you are a totes legend. Thank you so much! I spent two days on this and what I thought worked above ( div{ text-align:center; } ) ended up centering EVERYTHING on my site! Lol. But your suggestion is the one. I’m totally hopeless, but due to awesome guys like you, I’m hanging in there.. thanks so much – really. Coding – what radiation poisoning feels like, as far as I can tell. ??
