In reply to: [Hueman] removing and setting a sidebar for a specific post typeHey bdbrown, I will give it a go although I was hoping to do it without a plugin as I don’t intend to keep swapping the sidebars around.
thanksForum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Hueman] featured post slider, image sizesThanks so much I will give it a go.

In reply to: [Hueman] featured post slider, image sizesThanks bdbrown that really help. As a sort of fix I could now make sure all the featured images conform to the right size. To make all the excerpts the same length is it possible to set a limit by character?
thanks Stugreat, look forward to the update. thanks for the work!
Ah yes the twitter numbers are fine which has always been the case, it is the facebook button that is not showing the numbers and I know there are likes.
Hi Jeremy, on my staging site I have deactivated all the plugins apart from jetpack. It is not showing and javascript errors in the web console now but still no like numbers on the buttons.

thanksHi Jeremy, no that didn’t make any difference.
ok so a little update, I removed the facebook widget and the error and behavior is the same. So it isn’t that then.
Hi Brandon, sorry for the delay in getting back. Took your advice and looked at the pages in Firefox web console and the javascript errors I am getting are different to the ones you got
`”Invalid App Id: Must be a number or numeric string representing the application id.” all.js:64:238
“FB.getLoginStatus() called before calling FB.init().”
could that be from your plugin or I also have a fb widget in the sidebar.

In reply to: [Hueman] removing related posts for custom post typesHi bdbrown thank for the pointer but I think this is a different type of fix to the one I need. I think my explanation above is probably a bit sketchy.
The situation is this. For all my posts so far I like to have the related post shown at the bottom, which I have set in theme options. However now I have a particular custom post type that I don’t want any related posts shown at all. I am trying to figure a way to achieve this. I thought I might be able to identify this custom post type by assigning a specific category to it but for some reason you can only add tags. Not sure if this is the direction to go anyway.
glad of any other ideasForum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Hueman] removing related posts for custom post typesI have had another look and I can only associate tags with this type of custom post (learndash topics). So instead of categories I think I would need to be able to not display related content based on a post having a certain tag.
Thanks Dave, that worked perfect.

In reply to: [Custom Post Type UI] custom posts hierarchyThanks Michael, I will give it a go.

In reply to: [Custom Post Type UI] custom posts hierarchySorry Michael, I know I’m being thick but can you run that by me a different way. I see now where you mean in the attributes box of the post but I think I am going about creating the custom post types in the wrong way because I don’t get what I want as an option. Perhaps if I explain what I want to do you would be kind enough to point me in the right direction. I think I am getting in a mess as to what should be a custom post type and a taxonomy.
Within my website which has normal blog posts on it I am creating what I am calling a magazine with regular posts from 5 different people, like a column in a newspaper. Each column has a name, lets say one in ‘chocolate recipes’. what I am trying to achieve is to have these as columns collected within the magazine custom post type and then the posts collected under each relevant column. So then the address bar would look something like: https://www.mysite/magazine/chocolate-recipes/chocolate-chilli.htmlthanks for your help
