You were correct, Divi themes which we have on this site will use the first image as a first image unless you modify it’s behavior.

We found the solution in Google and made the change and it fixed the problem.

The post with the full info on it is at: go to Divi (or Extra) > Theme Options > Layout and disable Place Thumbs on Post in the Single Post Layout tab. … The post itself only shows the cover image.
Thanks for your help, your clue got us thinking about the theme and all the settings in it, add some Google and the solution appears! Magic.

Thanks for the explanation. I do have several menu items that display for Everyone so that seems to rule out the need for the code.
I did turn off and clear one caching component but it did not affect the behavior of the plugin.
Not sure where we go from here, your plugin does exactly what I need but it’s a bit problematic at the moment. Any other thoughts on what might be causing the issue?

Using the Nav menu role plugin, all the content and menu items show up in the menu even though several are set as public and others visible only to the Subscriber role or above. There is a comment in the FAQs addressing this very issue.

Ultimate Social Media Plus was not activated and the problem still shows. It must be coming from some other plugin. Your persistence is commendable, thank you.
Do you have any other suggestions for what plugin might be adding the problematic content?

I made those changes, cleared the cache using that option and tried the validation again. Google reorts “Cannot contine validation process …. fix the issue and run validation again.”

I have the same problem. Also, notice that the plugin does not work on other post types and the order of the categories shown is not alphabetically arranged.
