Apologies if this sounds rude …

… but as I stated – I have already searched both google and the forum here with no success.

Forget that – turns out it is a plugin.

I somehow missed disabling one plugin and when I did everything kicked back in. Proven by re-enabling all plugins bar this one, testing and then enabling the last one and re-testing.

It failed (speed and display wise) as soon as it was enabled. The plugin at fault is / was: Tweet this. Not sure if it was the plugin itself or some clash with my setup.

Any ideas?

My htaccess file had the following in it …

RewriteRule .*\.(jpg|jpeg|gif|png|bmp)$ https://www.google.co.uk [R,NC]

OK – the poker hack appears to be gone, but that doesn’t explain the backend not displaying properly!

Oh, and I can’t see any other activity that would indicate my security has been breached apart from teh code in the front page.

OK – can see the link now.

Suggestions as to how to fix this please? Obviously I need to replace stuff, but which bits, what order, or am I making this more complicated than I should?

OK that worked perfectly thank you – now I just need a way to stop them showing up in the ‘recent posts’ column.

But this issue fixed now …

Well duh. Forget that – I just spotted the code button …. teach me not to read.

I’m resolving this – though none of the answers helped me – as I guess it has slipped off the radar.

Thought I’d add a reply just in case it helps anybody else.

I upgraded (following listed method) to the latest version of WP and after a refresh all uploaded plugins were suddenly visible.

I guess something in the original installed version was corrupt / missing.

Perhaps I should clarify number 1 as well.

Not only do I want this other page to show up, I’d like for it to be “contained” withing the overall wordpress theme – is this still possible?

2. Sorry but I don’t understand the reply. If I setup a new user, the authentication eMail does not arrive I am therefore presuming that I need to enter something into the mail settings – yes / no? Or have I totally missed the point?

3. It is just content. So when I copy the database up, then all my local settings should be replicated?
