So after 2 weeks and 2 days of silence it’s time to uninstall and try one of the alternatives.
Thanks for the response.
I have WF installed on a number of sites and I have had to activate the Advanced Blocking feature manually on all of them.
I’m afraid you will have to remind me how to access the tables. It’s been a while since I’ve had to do that and I can’t remember how to get to them
Upgrading to PHP5.6 fixed the problems – thanks for your help.
Thanks for the response – I’m fairly sure the version of PHP will be greater than 5.6 but I’ll check that and the link you suggested.
However there are very few plugins in the site as we are still building it out and currently twiddling our thumbs waiting for an SSL certificate and ALL the error messages go away as soon as we turn Wordfence off.
Disappointing – nearly 3 days and no reply.
Hey guys has anyone actually looked at this problem yet?
” StuartinOz that sounds like fun” – it’s actually extremely frustrating because so many people don’t see the need to secure their WordPress websites at all.
Even after providing the figures for attempted hacks on some of the sites we look after … just average mom and pop business websites … I had one woman come up to me and complain that she just didn’t have time to even think about security and beside, no one would attack her sites.
Thankfully I was nowhere near a wall otherwise she would have seen me beat my head against it ??
On the these issues, the host has got one of the sites working but the same issue is impacting on 3 other sites and they are working on those now.
Hi wfasa – sorry for the delay in getting back to you – I was away at WordCamp on the Sunshine Coast in Qld presenting on basic security for WordPress websites.
We’ll talk to the host about the problem and see what they have to say.
Yep – nothing has changed for me either. It’s not having an impact on every site we have with Namecheap but it’s not going away for the ones that five that are affected.
Thank you very much
Yes that website is on Namecheap
The sites that we’ve encountered problems with are all fairly basic setups with no virus scanning plugins.
When looking through the diagnostics for the site I’m looking at right now I see this error message
‘./shauuppe_kv83fl/wp_wfConfig.MYD’ not found (Errcode: 2)
I hoped that today’s update might have fixed the problem but it hasn’t made any difference for the sites that have been giving me grief.
We seem to be having exactly the same problem with several websites that we manage for clients and it seems to have been happening for about 2 weeks.
Actually I just realised that it wasn’t a gallery problem I’ve encountered
