back again with the same problem LOL!
Everything started working again some time last week. I presumed someone at the other end had reset my API key as when I re-entered the key it started working and my stats re-appeared.
However today I go into my self hosted site and when I tried to visit the stats I am met with a “Your blog has been suspended for a violation of our Terms of Service”
Now I did have a wordpress.com blog that they did accuse me of TOS breach which they took down however I am pretty sure that the API key I was using for my self hosted blog (the one with problems) was from my newer wordpress.com site which is still running (I checked) as I wouldn’t have been able to access my old API key anyway due to not being able to log into to that account anymore.
Therefore I am back to square one and can only assume the issue is related to old or deleted blogs and that the WP-STATS DB is not keeping its data up to date or something along those lines.
I deleted the relevant settings out of my WordPress database and tried to enter the API key from my working wordpress.com account but I am now seeing the following message again.
The owner of that API Key (darkpolitricks) is not on the access list for this blog (10635130). To be added to the access list, you must contact support.
So I will contact support again.
Ok thanks for all your help.
I think I found it here >> https://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
Hi Naoko
Please can you tell me the URL of the page I make support requests from.
I cannot seem to find the link that I visited from my home laptop the other day.
Thanks
Ok will do.
Thanks

Hi thanks for getting back to me.
I actually did try what you suggested the other day but there must be an issue elsewhere because once I have deleted the option and added in a new key I get this message:
Error from last API Key attempt:
The owner of that API Key (XXX) is not on the access list for this blog (1063…). To be added to the access list, you must contact support.
However when I try to contact support I get a message saying to use the forums as they have gone away for a while.
So just to clarify the situation
I have a blog hosted on WordPress e.g myblog.wordpress.com (X)
I also have 2 self hosted wordpress blogs (Y and Z) which I want to use wp_stats for.
Up until a few days ago they were all working fine and both of my self hosted blogs were using the API key from the wordpress account linked to my wordpress hosted blog
One of my self hosted blogs is still working with the API key the other one isn’t.
When I log in to my wordpress account (X) I can see under the “My Blogs” option the wordpress blog and then in the “Linked Blogs” section
the self hosted blog (Y) I do have wp_stats for but not the blog (Z) I am having problems with. What I cannot find is a way to relink the problematic self hosted blog with my account as I am assuming that this is what I need to do.
If I click on the “Register another blog” option it takes me to this page https://en.wordpress.com/signup/
Obviously I don’t want another wordpress.com blog I just want to relink my self hosted blog with my account to get round this problem.
Maybe I am missing something or being a complete numpty because I cannot see a way to achieve this and resolve this problem.
Do you have any ideas?
I have just experienced the exact same problem with my own blog.
The stats had been working fine for a good few months and then a couple of days ago I log in to be met with the same issues as described above.
There doesn’t seem to be anyway for me to change the API key value to something else which is really annoying and I really don’t want to start debugging some ones else’s code to find out why.

In reply to: Incorrect category post countI am also having the same problem with wordpress 3.0.1.
This is causing me a major headache as I have category quick links on my main page under the search box that shows the top 5 categories ordered by their post count and only one of these five categories has any posts.
When I go into the category manager I can see against the categories in question that they are supposed to have 890,453,365,267 posts respectively but when I click on the counter link it just says there are no posts under this category.
I can see from a cursory look at the WordPress database that the wp_posts table has been de-normalised and holds a category count column rather than actually counting the number of post categories in real time which all well and good if it worked.
I don’t know how it got in this state but is there an inbuilt switch, button or update SQL statement that can be run to recalculate all category counts? Is there a plugin that will do this for me or do I have to write my own?
Any help would be much appreciated.

In reply to: [Strictly Auto Tags] [Plugin: Strictly Auto Tags] Initiate auto discoveryI have just released version 1.7 which includes a bulk update option to re-tag all existing posts OR just those currently without tags.
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Strictly Auto Tags] [Plugin: Strictly Auto Tags] Initiate auto discoveryThere is currently no mechanism to bulk update previous posts and the plugin will ignore any posts that already have tags.
However if you edited and saved any of these posts and they didn’t already have tags then the plugin would add tags to those posts. This works whether you do a quick edit or a full edit.
I am not sure if there is an easy way to update multiple posts in one go or not but currently the only way to get my plugin to parse existing posts is to re-save those posts somehow.
I am looking at a bulk update option for the next version.
