A cache area is where static pages (including graphics) are stored for immediate access instead of repeating a dynamic downloading process each time the same page is visited during a given period of time. I cannot even think that WP’s cache just sits there. Of course some means to clear the cache is desirable for testing purposes or whatever (including lack of enough disc space), but disabling the cache for no reason is a bad idea unless WP do not use it. In such a case I agree with egarcia, it’s just a resource ‘waste’ not a ‘cache’.

I see little enthusiasm for WP 2.0 and as far as I’m concerned I decided to stick with 1.5 for a while. However, I vote for renaming ‘WP 2.0 Beta’ to ‘WP 2.0’ because people are still posting issues and questions regarding the just released version in that section. Alternatively the best option would be to lock the Beta section moving the last posts to ‘Requests and Feedback’.

I do not hate the new Codex and Forum but
honestly both are terribly bad and far, far away
from the WordPress excelence.

It would be great to have some “deep” admin tools not just to delete old post but to do other administrative functions like search code, find & replace within code and/or text, global editing, moving posts and pages and stuff like that.

I use streaming audio (mostly clips) at my history site since 2000. My visitors love them and they even ask for videos!

Synergy is the best piece of code I have experienced this year. Now I’m dreaming a single wide-screen monitor and two computers or maybe three… Hmmmm, I’m planning my 2007 wish list in advance ??

On FF. For instance, I was forced to modify 400 pages because FF doesn’t understand RealAudio stream as other browser do.

According to all my 7 sites statistics, less than 8% of all my visitors use FireFox. It makes no sense to ignore the 92% using whatever they want, even Netscape 4 (less than 0.5%). If all those visitors not using FF click the Google’s FF banner I will purchase a new top of the line computer by 1st quarter 2006 ??

macmanx, it doesn’t matter if the service is paid or free. In either case we as subscribers deserve a minimum of consideration. As far as I’m concerned I will wait until Nov 30 to say bye bye technorati. BTW the service is not free cause we display their icon.
