I change
define(‘SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL’, false);
to
define(‘SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL’, true);
to enable subdomain sites but all I got is

About #2, original in my config file, it is
define('SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', true); for subdirectory sites.

But I want to use subdomain, so I changed it to
define('SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', false);

And what I got is

Error establishing a database connection

My purpose is using both subdirectory and subdomain at the same time.
Any ideas?

So far I’ve been able to successfully do the initial install, have sub directories off the root and map a sub domain using a cname. Like
college.com
college.com/it
department.college.com
So I know this much is possible

Jonathan, you can use both subdirectory and subdomain in multisite? HOW can yo do that?
