I ended up generating a CSV from my JSON file, then importing the CSV.

Building a CSV file was a difficult process because most of Woocommerce documentation is old, outdated and useless. This is sad, because you would think the info found on docs.woocommerce.com would be relevant to the latest release, but its not. Luckily I saw buried deep in another thread a reference to the sample csv that ships with the plugin. That helps, but still pretty upset I wasted time on bad documentation.

I still encountered this problem of WordPress saying “All products were imported” only to find out some did not make it. This was caused by not understanding how variations work. It took me a while to learn that “variable” type products are parent products and ‘variation” types are the true variation products. I honestly am not sure if this was the cause of the original problem as i think I was importing all simple products. Basically, my original problem might have been caused by products having invalid types, or not being published.

Please update your documentation, or at least make it clear if the documentation is old

I am asking about the javascript hooks advertised on your site. … if you still can’t direct me to more info, can you update your documentation. Suggested edit:

This is not resolved. And wouldn’t it be helpful to answer my question here so that it may help others who have similar issues? Seems like you’re hiding something by not having a public support forum

But, I have to ask, could you create an button to trigger the GC email manually? Woocommerce has buttonto “Resend” invoices. Could you build a “Resend Gift Certificate email” button?

I apologize, this ticket does not describe my issue. In my case, the code was generated, but no email was sent out. The email failed due to limited server resources

I called my hosting provider. We guessed that the error happened because of inadequate server resources (memory). I have noticed problems with server speed and memory since launching a new website redesign 3 months ago, so it made sense that the server was failing before it could send out the GC email. So, I upgraded my hosting package to dedicated hosting, and now everything works.

I can confirm this issue, and yes, I DISABLED (unchecked) the “Use WooCommerce Transactional Email System”
