It worked. I don’t understand why, though.
Curiouser and curiouser! The same problem has now occured with my OTHER WordPress podcast site! I just tried creating a new post for the latest episode of that show, too, so we’ll see if that works again.
Again, no plugins, etc have changed on this site since the previous, successful podcast episode publication in this feed.
I tried re-posting the same episode, and a couple hours later it appeared on Pocket Casts! So, problem solved. Apparently something went screwy in that particular blog post.

I see. Well, I appreciate your trying to help, but I can’t really make that explanation fit, because a) I looked at the feed in Chrome and didn’t see the blank line, and b) there were no changes in plugins on my site between December’s last successful podcast publication and this week’s ongoing failure.
Could the new year have something to do with it? Something expired?
OK, but are you sure this is the issue? This feed was working fine until the latest episode.
Not sure about caches, but I just checked the box you mentioned.

In reply to: Weird RSS feeds oriented toward my server!Belatedly realized this might be related to the podcasts I am serving through WordPress with a plugin. The files themselves are not stored on this server, though. What do you think?

In reply to: Menu in dashboard won’t hideOK. I’m about to go on vacation so the timing is bad. I’ll get on this next month. Thanks.

In reply to: Menu in dashboard won’t hideWell, I’m on a Mac, so F12 doesn’t work that way…
But since you mentioned deactivating plugins, I tried turning off Dagon Design Form Mailer and, as I suspected, that seems to be the culprit.
I think it’s because I’ve been using DDFM for the weekly quiz on my site, so I’m adding a new form every week. This problem had been occurring a little before, but yesterday when I added instances (going from 430 instances to 450) so I’d have blank records to fill in over future weeks, it suddenly got worse. And subtracting instances made the problem a little less severe again.
I think the plugin wasn’t built to have so many instances set up, or it sets off a bit of a bug or something. I wrote to the maker right after I first posted here, but as I recall they don’t have a great track record of responding — I think it’s just like one or two guys.
I’d like to delete old instances, but it appears to me that all you can do is increase or decrease the number of instances (thus, decreasing would delete the NEWEST instances) rather than selecting and deleting specific ones.
Maybe I need to find a different plugin for this? The site is Machigai.com, where I put up a quiz every Wednesday.

In reply to: [PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry] Deprecated each()And I just noticed that, in my first message in this thread, I accidentally was responding to the wrong thread! I hadn’t expected to get e-mail notifications about ALL threads in the topic, just the one I had posted in. Anyway, sorry about that!

In reply to: [PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry] Deprecated each()Well, in fact I discovered today that, after being stuck for a couple months, Overcast is now suddenly updating my podcast again — all the episodes that weren’t loading are now all there. No idea what suddenly knocked them loose, but I’ll take it!

In reply to: [PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry] Deprecated each()I deleted the PowerPress folder from the Plugins folder on my server, and uploaded the new version.
I haven’t had any error messages, before or after replacing that folder. The problem, which still remains, is that my podcast won’t update in Overcast.

In reply to: [PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry] Deprecated each()Thanks. I tried manually updating this, but unfortunately nothing has changed.
Oops, that’s what I get for sending you the feed link I had bookmarked. Apparently I bookmarked that before I changed WordPress podcasting plugins (years ago!). That IS, in fact, the new (er) feed URL, and the one I should have sent you. Sorry about that.
Hi Shawn. The feed URL hasn’t changed in forever! Here’s the link:
