In reply to: Podcast player doesn’t displayI’ve had a lot on my plate lately and I’m finally coming back to this. I installed Shareaholic 3 weeks ago but I haven’t been able to get it to work, and I’m still baffled by it. There’s PHP code that I’m told I can place “anywhere” in my theme (Twenty Fifteen). But I can’t figure out where that might be. The only place I could find to paste it was in “Additional CSS”, but as PHP is not CSS, nothing happened. I tried installing a plugin called Code Snippets and pasting the code in there, but that also did nothing. I feel like all the instructions I read are leaving out crucial information that the writer takes as obvious but I don’t. Can someone point me in the right direction?

In reply to: Podcast player doesn’t displayThanks! The culprit turned out to be a plugin called Easy Social.
Any suggestions for a better plugin to facilitate users sharing my individual posts on their social media?

In reply to: [Simple Basic Contact Form] reCAPTCHA not appearing in formOK, you helped me find the issue — the keys were set up on Google as v2! I hadn’t realized that was there – I had set them up quite a while back. Working now! Thanks.

In reply to: Quiz problem on WordPress 5.4OK, sorry, this topic upsets me so it was all I could do to not simply blow off steam in that post.
Thanks for recategorizing. I wasn’t sure if “fixing” was appropriate, because my question is more about “understanding” – presumably, WordPress is working as designed, I just don’t understand this version.
Actually, I just discovered that I had a plugin that allowed me to use the classic editor, and I just needed to update it! So I have a way to do things in the way I’m used to. Still, as I’m probably going to have to grit my teeth and deal with blocks sooner or later, I’ll go ahead and describe my problem.
I’m using the plugin WPForms for this. The form is for users to try to translate a sentence. Usually from Japanese to English, but sometimes the reverse. After they enter their text in a field, when they submit they see what the correct answer is. You can see some here:

As I said, my normal procedure for putting up a new quiz post has been to simply copy the HTML for the post into a new post and then make changes to it – the new sentence to be translated, the new WPForms code, etc.
I tried copying HTML to a new post, and got what looked like a mess to me:

In the preview it didn’t look quite as bad, but the instructions have become much bigger than the sentence to be translated, which should be the focus. Also, the post has been broken into blocks. Does that mean it’ll be impossible to copy the HTML for the entire post next time around? Is there some other way I can make a duplicate of this post — kind of a “Save as…” feature? (I figured out that “Duplicate” simply duplicates all the text/code within one post so that you have the entire thing twice in one post. Not useful for what I’m trying to do.)

In reply to: “Twenty Fifteen” header image woesAha! I just updated WordPress yesterday, and I see that Site Identity is there now. I just put in a square graphic for the left sidebar, and it looks pretty good. I’d rather have a banner above the posts, but maybe I need another theme to do that.
Thanks.

In reply to: Editing tags in a postOh BTW I’m using Firefox 65.0.1

In reply to: Editing tags in a postAm I misunderstanding the use of these tags? I thought it was to add keyword to *a particular post* to help people find it with those keywords. The fact that a tag “already exists” on the site seems irrelevant to my understanding of it.
I don’t feel it’s my place to deactivate plugins since I’m not the administrator, and many other people are using the site.
I don’t know why it would be blacklisted, but I’ll pass that along to the administrator.

In reply to: Editing tags in a postI tried adding “Marvel Comics” to the field shown in the screen shot linked from the above post, but it keeps disappearing. This never happened with older versions of WordPress.

In reply to: Editing tags in a postAdmin Dashboard> Posts > Tags shows ALL the tags ever used on the site. That’s not what I want. I want the tags that have been assigned specifically to the post I’m editing.

I’m not sure why it’s relevant, but the site I’m contributing to is https://comicspodcasts.com/
I looked at it, but I couldn’t see the blank line Shawn mentioned.
Yeah, it could be some kind of auto update, especially since it happened in BOTH feeds. But creating new blog posts for both worked, so hopefully the next episodes will go up the FIRST time.
I’ll be back if it goes badly again. No news is good news. Thanks.
