In reply to: Sory, this file cannot be editedOK. Just created a child of twentyten and that has no problem. So, it’s something to do with BuddyPress I guess.

In reply to: Sory, this file cannot be editedNo, good try, this is not related. The thread you posted shows someone not understanding the new 3.1 feature of showing only the files in your child-theme ( a long awaited amendment ) when using the editor. My issue is that the child theme files display correctly (not showing the parent files) BUT I cannot edit them, even when its not the active theme. This is the only site I have which is using the buddypress default as a parent so not sure if it’s because of that or not.

In reply to: Sory, this file cannot be editedYeah, even set them to 777 to see if it would help. It’s very strange. I have started from basics, reloaded a fresh installation with 3.0.5, installed buddypress 1.2.8, created a new child theme with just style.css and copied in footer.php directly from the bp-default. I can edit bp-default, twentyten but not my own child theme. It allows acess to the stylesheet only; if I try and edit footer.php I get the Sorry message.

In reply to: 3.1 permalink for Custom tag – /index.php/index.php/Yeah I understand the ‘almost pretty’permalinks. I have to use them as my server is Zeus not Apache. The issue is that in 3.0.5 this duplication of the index.php did not happen. take a look at the live site https://dorchesterchamber.co.uk which is still 3.0.5

In reply to: 3.1 permalink for Custom tag – /index.php/index.php/@123milliseconds Did you look at the link to my test site? Click on one of the letter in the A-Z (I or J) and check out the url
@billerickson No, I don’t have two /index.php/ in my permalink it’s as I said in my post.
BTW. All plugins are deactivated and I don’t have an .htaccess file

In reply to: Custom Post Types not showing up in archiveMe too. Have you found a way around this yet?

In reply to: Using post_tag taxonomy when creating a Custom Post Type@chrisbrocklesby I’m having the same problem. Your solution just adds the meta-box to the custom post. i think what Albert (and certainly I) mean is that once a tag is assigned to the new custom post it doesn’t show up under the mormal tag archive.

In reply to: Changes Twentyten 1.0 >> 1.1It would be nice to see why I should update. Better still would be for the auto update to work! I’ve tried two different websites now and both have failed saying unable to delete old version of theme and left the site corrupt. Not happy.

In reply to: Footer issueHi Mike
Just go to Appearance and under that you will find a tab ‘Footer’ you just need to replace the ‘#’ with your URL to get the links to go where you want. You can of course change the text at the same time.Be aware though that if you are using 2.9.1 you may have a problem using this; under some conditions the URL’s are being screwed since the latest upgrade. If so give me a call at [email protected]

In reply to: “more tag” not working on updated blog, custom theme…Try this
<?php global $more; $more = 0; ?>
//The code must be inserted ahead of the call to the content
<?php the_content(‘Continue Reading’); ?>

In reply to: New website nifty bit of hackingWhat a cool website Buskerdog. I’m pretty new to WP. When you say you “laid the excerpts for that category out in a rectangle using the page2cat plugin”. How did you do that?
Please excuse me if that seems like a dumb question.
