In reply to: [GTS Translation Plugin] GTS Translation PluginHi again.
Actually, I stand corrected. All our translation providers are working fine, and we’re not seeing problems with other plugin installs. If you’re still having issues, please feel free to send us an email at [email protected] and we’ll try and resolve the issue.
Thanks.

In reply to: [GTS Translation Plugin] GTS Translation PluginHowdy. By chance, did you have success with French, Italian, German, and Spanish and problems with the rest? We’ve been having intermittent trouble with translation providers for other languages (we’re working on ironing it out), but for sure those four should be working perfectly. Thanks!
Hi Mick.
Interesting… Before I look into it, though, I do want to point out something that might make your life easier. There’s a “Show Published Entries” checkbox on the page on the GTS site that you can use to toggle and display and check out the already published entries. Let me know if for some reason that feature isn’t available to you.
And now that I’ve had a look into our server logs, I see the following error coming up when we try to post the translated content to your live site:
ERROR 404 https://elmusico.luketan.com/wp-content/plugins/gts-translation/callbacks/gts-save-content.php
I see that your dev site was created with an preceding /cms in the plugin path and that your live site also responds to that URL. Did you move the wp-content directory after signing up? In any case, I’ll update the path in our database and you should start receiving the translated posts again.
Thanks!
Steve
Hello…
First off, I’m glad that you were able to register successfully! I’m sorry to be slow in responding, I’ve been under the weather the past few days and have also been trying to coordinate a response with the CEO of GTS Translation. At the moment, these signup failures that we’re seeing are ultimately being caused by transient problems with one of our translation providers.
At the moment, French, Italian, German, and Spanish languages are 100% reliable. The rest of the languages are less so…it all depends on when you try. To fix that, we’re currently working on two fronts : we’re editing our website’s code to make the sign-up process more resilient against translation provider flakiness, and we’re talking with the problematic translation provider to try to smooth out the transient issues. Over the course of this coming week, we should be able to make progress on both fronts.
Thanks for your patience!
Steve
Hi there.
Sorry to be slow in getting back to you. Currently, we only support the language selector for widget-enabled templates. If you are familiar with PHP and customizing templates, though, I can send you a code snippet that you can use as a starting point for writing your own custom solution.
Thanks.
Steve
Hi there.
Sorry to hear that the sign-up process isn’t working for you. I’ve just released a new version of the plugin (1.2.0) that should fix the problems you’re having.
Before installing the new version, please make sure to quit your browser. That step is necessary because we need to make sure that all the session cookies are cleared before you try to register again.
If you do have trouble signing up again, please copy the error message you receive into this forum, and I’ll do my best to help.
Thanks a lot, and hope that helps.
Steve
Hi Andy.
Sorry to hear that you’re having trouble. If you’re getting that error, it means that your plugin isn’t able to download or store the list of available languages from our API. Can you send me the URL of your blog so I can poke around in our server logs for requests initiated by you?
Also, you wouldn’t happen to have WP cron disabled, would you?
Thanks.
Steve
Hi Mick.
The site looks great…glad to see you got it finished and launched!
To answer your questions:
1. Yes, currently the whole post gets re-translated. It’s on our todo list to automatically apply translation units (i.e. your changes) where the content hasn’t changed, but we just haven’t had time to do that yet.
2. Once a post is approved and pushed to your blog, then it’s no longer eligible for crowdsourcing. If you do have your own people, though, you might want to have them keep an eye out for new posts…the turn around time will be surely be faster if you have dedicated moderators.
Hope those answers help, and look forward to hearing any more feedback or answering any more questions for you.
Thanks again!
Steve
Hi Mick.
Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with the post editor.
Once the post is in the published state, you should be able to check it out do some more post-editing. If that’s not the case, then it’s definitely something I’ll need to look into. Is this for your https://dev1.radfordmedia.com/ blog?
That error message you see pops up when you edit a post in WP, but our service doesn’t want to re-translate it because someone’s currently working on cleaning up the translated copy, and we don’t want to change it out from under them. When you get that message, you’ll need to re-publish once the post-editor has finished, or your local changes won’t get picked up on our side.
However, it sounds like in your case that you’re erroneously getting the message. When you can, please confirm the blog, and I’ll take a look.
Thanks!
Steve
Hi Mick.
Thanks for the excellent feedback! I’m glad you were able to get things working with the standard menu.

In reply to: [GTS Translation Plugin] GTS Translation Plugin ProblemHi eamez.
Thanks for taking our plugin for a spin and for your feedback. Unfortunately, I’ve got some bad news for you. I’ve downloaded and evaluated AWPCP, and I’m sorry to say that it’s not compatible with our plugin.
You see, our plugin understands the internal workings of WordPress and its content very well…that’s how we’re able to translate posts, create localized permalinks, and serve up translated pages on the fly. Unfortunately, AWPCP works by creating its own separate mini-site that’s more or less independent of WordPress. It has it’s own content structure, it’s own URL dispatching, etc. that our plugin has no knowledge of and therefore cannot translate.
Hopefully you can still find a use for our plugin, but if not, thanks for giving it a try all the same!
Steve
Hi Mick.
Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, my attempts to duplicate your problem on WP 3.2.1 have been unsuccessful, so I think I’m going to need some more help from you. Can you send me the code in your template where you’re calling the function to render the menu? Also, can you check to see if there are any PHP errors in your Apache log?
Thanks!
Steve
Thanks for the positive feedback! Can you send me a link to your blog so I can have a look at the menu? Also, which version of WP are you running? Thanks again…

In reply to: [GTS Translation Plugin] [Plugin: GTS Translation Plugin] Untrusted page?!Thanks for letting us know. There was a hiccough in getting our SSL certificate renewed this year, but all is well now. I hope that you’ll give the plugin another try now that everything’s back to normal!
