There should be an ad at the bottom of the sidebar, but it doesn’t show when an Adsense Link unit is being used below the article text.

Ps.. it doesn’t matter if I’m using the Advanced Ads sidebar widget, a third-party widget, or plain html/javascript – the effect is the same.

Thanks for your reply Thomas. I’ve discovered there is a conflict with the ‘Insert Headers and Footers’ plugin. If I disable this plugin I’m then able to edit/add ads.

I’ve tested the plugin with caching enabled and it seems to work fine as long as ‘do not cache pages for logged in users’ is checked in w3 total cache. However, people are not redirected back to the post they were trying to view after the log in. They are simply presented with their account page and have to navigate to the post themselves.

Can I also ask whether protected content includes a login form, so that visitors don’t have to leave that content to register or log in, and also whether it could affect SEO and google/bing search engine results? If protected content does not include a login form, can those visitors automatically be taken back to the url they landed on, or tried to access, after logging-in/registering?

The instructions provided by google aren’t very well explained. It took me hours to work out you don’t need to include <!– before your content, or –> after it.

You have to choose ‘pound sterling’ from the dropdown menu on the form options page.

Could you tell me what needs to done differently with the configuration? I read somewhere that you should only use object caching with membership sites.

I’ve worked it out. Look for Disqus in your plugin list and click settings. At the top it’ll say that Disqus is ‘disabled’. Simply ‘enable’ it.

I did try Flare and loved the design but Facebook share didn’t actually ‘share’ and counters didn’t keep up with the amount of ‘likes’ – required page refresh. You could try manually adding buttons for social networks instead of using a plugin but this requires some programming knowledge.

The first sharing plugin I ever used was addthis. I don’t use it now as I prefer the design of Digg Digg but its the only plugin I found which worked regardless of theme. You may want to give it a try. You didn’t say what problems you were having?
