I’ve reached out to the Head of Security over at GoDaddy, and he also suspects that this is a problem with your particular instance and is not likely the result of the plugin. He recommended to reach out to GoDaddy’s support to further investigate. Good luck!

I can assure you that this plugin is not distributing Malware, but it is possible your site may have been compromised. An attacker could be hiding code in that plugin folder. My recommendation would be to promptly update to the latest version, which would override any changes made by a bad actor.

We released a new version of the PHP Compatibility Checker on Tuesday, version 1.4.4. For those of your experiencing the infinite spinner issue, could you please try with this latest version and let me know if you encounter the same problem. I’d love to get to the bottom of the problem.

Generally, when we’ve seen that before, it would indicate there was a fatal error during the scan. Often this is caused another plugin’s autoloader. If the problem persists, having a list of installed and activated plugins would help to reproduce the issue and determine what is happening.

It’s been a while since I’ve looked at this problem, but I think there is already a function to do this inside the plugin that you could use. It gets triggered when you delete a friend. Perhaps try deleting a global friend and re-adding them. That should update the counts. Let me know how it works out.

I’ve simply disabled the emails completely for now. I always try to develop for the majority, and it seems that most users wanted me to disable email notifications.

This has been resolved in Version 2.0.5

Can you paste the URL from wp-admin/ that you are trying to access?

I’ve written this to work off of the ‘manage_options’ capability, so you should be able to access it via the admin.

That’s was not in the intended functionality. Can you give me more specifics on how to reproduce so that I may help you figure what what’s happened.

I don’t believe I specifically ever delete friendships, so there is hope we can recover your data.
