Update – I went in manually and deleted the Jetpack directory under plugins. By doing that I was finally was able to delete Jetpack and get rid of the errors. I think I will use other plugins for the functions I need.

In reply to: [Serenti] Serenti – must be registered to comment? It actually says “Only registered users can comment.” That is not true, so how can I get rid of that wording?

In reply to: Server errors after upgradesThank you! It doesn’t seem theme specific. I am trying to rename the .htaccess file to something like .htaccess_save or .htaccess_old but it won’t let me, says it is invalid filename. Do I need to leave out the period, and if so how would I put it back if I needed to?
Thank you again for your help, even thought the Jetpack turned out to not be the real problem. I do appreciate it.

Update: I see now how that Facebook debugger works, and it seems to have cleared up the lingering effects of the problem. Thanks you again, I really appreciate it.
Still would like a modern theme that can be similar to my current one, if you know of any…
And thanks again!

Thank you so much for the reply. Yes, the post that I originally linked to does work now. However, the first two on my blog do not. If you go to my main page at https://www.stevenology.com and the try to share the first post to Facebook, you will see the garbage text. Please try it if you can.
Also, I did try the Facebook debugger URL that you mentioned but it didn’t seem to do anything other than give me information about the page. Was I missing something?
As for my theme, yes, I realize it is an old theme and if I could find a modern there that looked at least similar then I would consider changing it. If you know of any please advise.
Anyway, hopefully you will check and see the problem I am talking about, and thank yo SO MUCH for your time!

Another update, now the problem still happens with the latest couple posts, when I try to share the post to Facebook, the window pops up and the post title there is correct, but in the box that should have the post excerpt from the contains the garbage text I posted above. But when I try to share other, older posts, I get the actual post excerpt as I am supposed to. What the $%^&???
Well, I guess maybe no one has any ideas yet. But to update this, though, I did find the “garbage text” in the header.php file in my theme’s folder. So, I deleted that “garbage text” out of the header.php however I am still getting the same problem. How can this be? can anyone give me an idea of what else to do? Thank you!
Here is what I deleted out of the header.php file:

[Moderated: Please don’t post spam (links) on the forums, use a pastebin.com to show the text]As an update, it is not just that post that I mentioned above, it happens with other posts too. When I try to share to Facebook using Jetpack, I get the garbage text instead of the post excerpt, as mentioned above.
If anyone can help I would really appreciate it!
Thank you very much.
Another update – I commented out the following line, right after the <title>…</title> in the header.php file
<?php arras_document_description() ?>
Looks like it is working, but could that cause other problems? Anyone?
I appreciate the help!
Update – The makers of the plug are saying I must pay to post in the support forum. Don’t like that, since there is already a post there with no resolution to the problem. Maybe someone here can help?
Or maybe I should try eShop or WP E-commerce or a different plugin. Anyone have experience with those?

Re: <script src=”https://infoitpoweringgathering.com/ll.php?kk=11″></script>
I just had the same problem on three of my five Ipower WordPress blogs. So yes, I am sure Ipower got hacked. I know the Ipower support is weak so I looked on here first. I used the search and replace plugin referred to in previous posts and it worked on all three blogs. Thanks you SO MUCH for that tip and for this forum!!!
Anyone else with this problem I suggest trying the plugin.
