In reply to: headerIt looks like its adding the image as a banner, but stretching it to full width, however keeping proportions. This is a good thing, but not with the height/shape of the image you have!
Are you hoping it crops and only shows part of the image? eg:

The theme you are using wants to use your image as a banner, so will always stretch it.
Ideally, you need to upload an image that is a letterbox shape…Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Locked out of AdminAre you saying you can’t get access to the /wp-admin URL?
How I’ve got round this is by logging into your server’s phpMyAdmin and changing the URL back in the wp-options table there.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: server file permissionsThanks for your honest and to the point reply!
Its the same error each time ‘the file/folder was not writable’ – it often relates in installing plugins, where the plugin needs to generate its own file within an existing parent folder on the wp-content folders.
And the error appears on installation – ‘xxx is not writable so cannot create the requested file’Its not a specific problem to domain or installation as its across lots of domains on the same server.
I guess I’ll just contact my host & see if they can help

you should be able to simple apply a hyperlink to a non-menu page that you create by following my last postS

In reply to: Problems adding slideshows into pagesHi
Looks like you may not have set up the flickr ID link properly, or possibly have included multiple sets in your flickr setup in WP?
What flash flickr plugin are you using? You seem to have nextgen gallery and a number of others installed too – are these all activated? unlikely linked, but might be worth turning off the ones you’re not using at the moment.Steve

In reply to: Pages and HyperlinkingHi dfj.
If you use the wordpress custom menu manager like in the video, you can create for example 10 pages, but only choose to show 5 of them in your navigation by dragging them into place. The only way your users will get to see the other 5 pages can be as desired using hyperlinks within text on your pages, choosing the relevant page.
You could go even further and create specific page menus just for some internal pages, again, ONLY showing on those pages using the widgets manager but this is probably a tutorial for another day!
