No, one will work as well, but it should be paired with one of our commercial plans.

All keys can now serve an unlimited number of sites, and the plan you choose will depend on how much traffic you’re expecting. See https://docs.akismet.com/akismet-api-usage-limits/ for more info.

One key will be able to serve as many sites as you want. In the case of a free key, both sites need to be non-commercial in nature, since those are only for personal use, as explained here: https://docs.akismet.com/getting-started/free-or-paid/

There is indeed no setting for it at the moment, but if one must, the feature can easily be disabled with a bit of code.

I suspect the issue must have been caused by the WordPress plugin update process not having completed properly when you last upgraded (probably to our version 5.0). That would explain why reinstalling solved the issue.

If you want to achieve this immediately, you should be able to leverage WP’s remove_action() on those two, and remove_filter() on this one.

Just to note that the Forminator team is aware of some bugs in their Akismet implementation, and are working on a fix.

It does not look like Piotnet Forms supports Akismet, but I found a feature request in their public Trello board to do so: https://trello.com/c/k0QPyNJq/67-akismet-integration

Since integrating with the Akismet API needs to be implemented in their code, it would be up to their developers to produce this feature.

My recommendation would be to upvote the feature request from the link I posted above.

Google themselves mention that:

• Low-quality content on some parts of a website can impact the whole site’s rankings.
• Google might remove or demote pages overrun with user-generated spam to protect the quality of our search results.

So running Akismet to protect your site from such spam should have a positive effect on your overall ranking.
