In reply to: [WPBruiser {no- Captcha anti-Spam}] Lots of extreme porn spam getting throughIt seems WPBruiser is not being supported at the moment, as no replies to questions for the past 3 weeks.
Just FYI while I go looking for an alternative plugin :((, even after the update I am in spam overwhelm. The comments are half a page long, chock-full of lengthy porn links and text, and arrive daily by the dozen from junk bot addresses.
[Waves a sad goodbye…]
Not exactly. It’s formatted within my theme (Generate Press Premium), with the shortcode added to that section of the page.
The odd thing is that it’s universal – added in just one place in the theme, and it should (and used to) appear on all pages.
It’s a plugin called Subtitles.
It’s not perfect – has not been updated in a while. It just creates an entry field on the post edit page, and manages font size differences behind the scenes.

In reply to: [Subtitles] Compatibility with 5.0Hi again Philip,
Also for this update, please take a look at what Subtitles is doing to the WP Comments area:
– It appears to be causing it to interpret the title HTML as raw text.
– It shows both the title and subtitle, instead of just the title. When Subtitles is deactivated, these things revert to normal.
Example
https://shrinkwrap.blog/bells-theorem-blues-loneliness/
2 thoughts on “Bell’s Theorem Blues”
…with Subtitles active this displays as…
2 thoughts on “<span class=”entry-title-primary”>Bell’s Theorem Blues</span> <span class=”entry-subtitle”>If we’re all so connected baby, how come I feel so alone? *</span>”
Thanks so much for your work on this.
Stephanie

In reply to: [Subtitles] Compatibility with 5.0Subtitles was great, so I would also love to see it working again in WP 5.03 ??
However, I need to post today, so will have to find an alternative plugin I suppose. Anyone here found one they like?

In reply to: [Recent Posts Widget With Thumbnails] Where are the Settings please?Oh I see. I was expecting to format then add, rather than add then format. But I get it now, thanks.
Thank you. All done.
Hi again
On further investigation, I’m now more confused.
Examining my Home page https://shrinkwrap.blog using my browser’s F12 developer tools, I can see that the OpenGraph info is set correctly (via Yoast SEO plugin). e.g. The share image and title are correct in the code.
However, SSS is not using this OpenGraph info. SSS is selecting different OG info, from elsewhere.
Where? Why? Have I done something wrong in SSS setup, or is this a bug?
To be extra certain that the OG info is correct on the page, I used ‘Show existing scrape information’ and ‘Fetch new scrape information’ on Facebook’s debugger (https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/). Sure enough, it displays correctly under “…below preview is what users will see when they share this URL”.
How is it possible for SSS to be getting this wrong?
Thanks for your guidance or a remedy.

In reply to: [Ajax Search Lite] Ajax Search Lite stopped workingHang on! Fixed.
We figured out the problem was caused by interference from a plug-in call WP Super Simple Speed.
That plug-in also caused Customise to stop working properly.
So, sorry to bother you :). Still thought it useful to leave this here, in case others encounter a similar problem.

In reply to: [Subtitles] Subtitles corrupting display of exceprtsThank you, that’s helpful, though quite technical and difficult for me (not an IT person). I will ask the theme developer. ??

In reply to: [SEO Post Content Links] Promising, but too hard to understandWow, content-links, that was really offensive. What a mistake.

In reply to: [Ajax Search Lite] Outstanding.Oops, my bad. It’s container margin, not search box padding. So it does work, sorry.
Still it would be nice to be able to edit the appearance of the search box itself. I was able to achieve this in CSS instead, so all OK.

In reply to: Admin or author not getting comment email notifications…Hello Jas
Did you find the cause and solution for this? I seem to be having a very similar problem – no notifications being received from the Comments area, either by site admin or commenters.
Thank you ??
