2) actually it’s not subcategories separated from categories… I’ll elaborate better, sorry. It’s something like this:

Category1 field title (dropdown)
sub1
sub2

Category2 field title (multiselect)
sub1
sub2

It’s like having 2 separated fields.

3) If that’s not possible, could it be with custom taxonomy? Can I create a new taxonomy field and add it to the filter?

2) As you can see in the example above there are categories with subitems and I would like to separate them to be able to use different aspects (dropdown, checkboxes, links, etc) for each one.
