Q: 4. with the WCMp Vendor Product Import Export, how does the vendor also get all their product images uploaded and linked to the correct product descrips, etc?

A: 4. WCMp Vendor Product Import Export uses the SKU to create a unique post ID and assigns the concerned vendor as the author. The entire mapping is more or less based on this unique post ID.

i have a few questions about this (sorry for all the questions):

A ) i guess i’m still not sure how the vendor would upload and associate their images to a bulk csv data file upload

– would the vendor upload the images one by one?

– would the vendor upload the csv first and then the images after?

– would the vendor upload the csv and then send a zip file of all the images to the site admin to install them (ftp maybe?)

just trying to understand the actual mechanics of both data upload and image management so i can teach my vendors, etc

– what if some of the images for product-sku 12345 are the primary image and others are the gallery images? does the vendor have different fields in the csv for primary_image and gallery_images?

– if gallery images, would they be separated somehow within the same field? pipe separator?

B ) what if the vendor accidently uses the same SKU for two different products?

– can the vendor fix this?

– are similar SKU’s checked for when the file is uploaded?

C ) what if one vendor happens to use the same SKU numbers as another vendor?

– how would this affect product display and product “ownership” (i guess?), in other words, is it possible that one product owned by vendor X could suddenly be switched over to vendor Y ?

D ) BIGGIE – what if the vendor submits a messed up csv file?

for instance, what if the vendor forgets to place a few commas in the right spots, etc?

– would this mess up the whole site?

– would this mess up other vendors?

– would this mess up just that one vendor’s stuff?

– how to recover?

in other words, could a submitted csv that is not perfect mess up anything? kill the site? – as convenient as a bulk csv file is, i’m anticipating that some vendors might make mistakes (maybe some big ones)

E ) what if the vendor uploads the same product and SKU two different times? i know that this addon does not allow “editing” of a product by the csv, but i’m guessing that some vendors might make the mistake of uploading the same product and SKU

F ) does the plugin try to filter any bad-guy code that someone might try to slip in? (all vendors will be manually approved, but just thinking ahead)

E ) i noticed that the import/export csv plugin can work through the frontend product manager too, great

A: 6. Seems like you want to create products along the line of Affiliate products, WooCommerce already supports it by default and so does WCMp.

well, actually i want all vendor products to (1) go to the product detail page and then (2) the customer can then click to go to the onsite vendor store page – the customer could also click the vendor name displayed in each product whether in search results or category list, too, to go directly to the onsite vendor page to get the vendor contact info

there is no need for any external links for the products

in fact, the only external links would be the vendor website URL, which i would add to the vendor store page profile data

the idea is to display lots of vendor products in lots of categories, then direct the customer to the specific vendor page to get the vendor contact info

A: 8. Yes, you can control the aspects that vendors would see when adding a product. To check the product fields which you can control, please follow the path WP-admin>> WooCommerce>> WCMp>> Products. The Frontend Product manager makes use of the configuration from here.

B ) what if the licence key/api license checker is down?

C ) how often are the licenses checked? (i had a helpdesk a few years ago that checked the license every day, and their license server went down a few times so i was not able communicate with customers)
