In reply to: Traffic Crash after Transfer Blog to New DomainIt seems the traffic has recovered! After having had daily page views of less than 200 on average for the past 8 weeks, since 4 days it jumped back to more than 1,000. Seems the pages are ranking the same like before. Hope it stays like that ??

In reply to: Traffic Crash after Transfer Blog to New DomainAlright, thanks again for the tips. I’ll keep the Switcher Plugin turned off a week or two and if it doesn’t make any change I turn it on again and just be patient while continue working on the site.

In reply to: Traffic Crash after Transfer Blog to New DomainNo change in traffic so far. I just remember one thing: About the same time that I done the domain transfer I have installed a “Mobile Theme Switcher” plugin. Do you think such a plugin might be causing a decline in traffic? I will turn it off now and see if it has any impact.

In reply to: Traffic Crash after Transfer Blog to New DomainI just had a live chat with the guy from Bluehost and he set up a “Wild Card Redirect” for me. Now all pages are redirecting to thailandredcat.com. Finally ?? Do you think that was the main issue and traffic will soon recover?

In reply to: Traffic Crash after Transfer Blog to New DomainI have about 230 pages. I could do the redirect manually using a plugin. Do you think this will help getting back the traffic?

In reply to: Traffic Crash after Transfer Blog to New DomainI cannot login to redcat-travel.com/wp-login anymore. It will result in a 404 error as well.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Traffic Crash after Transfer Blog to New DomainI have disabled it, but I still get the 404 errors. Again, except for redcat-travel.com which successfully redirects to thailandredcat.com.

In reply to: Traffic Crash after Transfer Blog to New DomainI was wrong, the domain is actually an “addon” domain, not a parked one. It’s still showing the 404 errors. However, if you type in redcat-travel.com, it will redirect to thailandredcat.com, that works.

In reply to: Traffic Crash after Transfer Blog to New DomainI have contacted my hosting provider via live chat (bluehost) and I think they made redcat-travel.com a parked domain.
Not sure what do you mean with your first question? I haven’t done any database changes, so the folder is still called redcattravel. I have just changed the Site URL and Address in the WP General Settings and updated the shortlinks.

In reply to: Traffic Crash after Transfer Blog to New DomainI have rebuilt and resubmitted the sitemap, using a different plugin. Now fortunately the homepage is included:
https://www.thailandredcat.com/sitemap.xml
I also solved the picture problem.
Let’s wait for a few days and see how the traffic is recovering.
As for the redirection: I have now successfully redirected redcat-travel.com to thailandredcat.com, however the different pages lead to a 404 page, example: https://redcat-travel.com/about/

In reply to: Traffic Crash after Transfer Blog to New DomainNow I have a new problem: The redirect from redcat-travel.com to thailandredcat.com is working, but now the pictures are not loading anymore! example:

In reply to: Traffic Crash after Transfer Blog to New DomainI’m just trying different things and I have turned off the redirect plugin. I have turned it back on now. Btw, how can you see my redirects?
Thank you for the tip with the sitemap builder plugin, I’ll try it and then let you know if that helps.

In reply to: Traffic Crash after Transfer Blog to New DomainBy rebuilding you mean resubmit it? I don’t know how to build a sitemap manually except submitting it via google webmaster tools.
