Making a slideshow hide or disappear is something your theme should take care of. Have a look at this page for a suggestion on how to implement this in your theme. Or, if you’re not a theme developer, ask your theme’s developers if they can implement this for you.

That’s very strange. Could I please have another look at your website? I’m currently getting a ‘coming soon’ page.

The slideshow’s script isn’t being loaded on your website. Please read this thread for a solution to your problem.

    Hi John,

The ‘main-content’ element on your website has a fixed width of 900 pixels, this fixed width breaks the responsiveness of your website.

You may be able to find the CSS rule that causes this issue in your theme’s ‘header.php’ file. It’s also possible that a plugin causes the fixed width issue, which can be tested by disabling all plugins except for the slideshow plugin.

    Best regards,
    Stefan

The height of your slideshow is set to 0 pixels, that’s probably the reason it’s not showing up. Could you please go to the slideshow’s settings and change the “Shrink slideshow’s height when width shrinks” setting to “Yes”?

    Hi,

The slideshow’s scripts and stylesheets are loaded into the footer by default to save server and visitor some bandwidth.

However, you can choose to load the slideshow’s stylesheets in the head section of your website by going to your WordPress dashboard and clicking the ‘Slideshows’ menu. Next, click ‘General Settings’ in the ‘Slideshows’ submenu. Here you can change the ‘Stylesheet location’ setting to ‘Head’, which will solve your W3C validation issues.

    Best regards,
    Stefan

A WordPress plugin can be installed in one of two ways: an automatic installation through your WordPress website’s plugins page, or a manual installation by uploading the plugin files to your website. Pressing the red download button on the slideshow plugin page means choosing the latter, which may not be as easy or convenient as there’s no real installer.

This page will provide you with a lot of information on how to install a WordPress plugin in both the automatic and manual way, so you’ll be able to install the slideshow plugin.

Hi Jason, could you please provide me with the URL to your website?

I see you’re facing the same issues as the people in this thread. You can solve the problem by disabling and deleting the slideshow plugin from your WordPress website and downloading and installing it again. You should be able to do this without losing your slideshows.

You may need to do a hard refresh in your browser to see the slideshow work again. You can do this by pressing ctrl+f5 (on Windows), or cmd+shift+R (on Mac).

    I’m sorry for the inconvenience.

Yes, you should be able to safely disable and delete the slideshow plugin without losing your slideshows. If you have downgraded to an older version, simply updating the plugin from the dashboard of your WordPress website may solve the problem as well.

Thank you for providing the URL to your website. I see the error on your page is caused by the release problem indeed.

It’s strange that this problem persisted after reinstalling. Could you please try to do a full removal of the slideshow plugin by disabling and deleting it? After that, download the slideshow plugin again from the plugins page and install it. Your slideshows should shouldn’t be removed by doing this and the problem should be solved.
