@jordesign thanks, I tried that but it caused some problems: the text in the navbuttons was split vertically to single letters such as:
Н
А
Ч
А
Л
О
Anyway, I found a solution that works well enough – I allowed the row (that contains the nav buttons) to go into a second row when horizontal space is insufficient. The result suits me pretty well. Thanks again for looking into this ??
Sure, I tested in:
- Desktop Chrome on Windows
- Desktop Firefox on Windows
- Desktop Edge on Windows
- Mobile Chrome on Android
Indeed on Android no scrollbar appears. On desktop, there’s a scrollbar when you zoom in.
I suppose you are trying with the setup that I described in the first post? (i.e. 1280×1024 res, 150% MSWindows scale, browser zoom at >=75%)
Please make sure to hard-reload the website (Ctrl+F5).

@jordesign Thanks, I know about the typo – it’s intentional. I use it as an easy way to disable a line of CSS code (hey, it’s less keystrokes than /**/ ?? )
I “reenabled” (a.k.a. fixed the typos in) these two lines now, temporarily, so you can see the horizontal scrollbar that they cause to appear.
@jordesign Thanks! That’s what I was trying to do with the “flex-shrink: 0” line, but, as I wrote in my original post, that leads to a horizontal scrollbar, unfortunately.
@foosantos Thanks for replying! Frankly I wouldn’t like it very much if the menu was always collapsed by default. (I like to accentuate/emphasize the options available in the menu – make them stand out – and that’s why). ??
