Hi Jonathan, I’d prefer to not post that URL publicly, is there any way we can continue this conversation over email?
I see! I’ll go ahead and add this to functions.php, but I was wondering if it was possible to turn it on and off for specific forms?
Nevermind! Please disregard all confusion with the database, this has been solved. Changing the value of is_spam now does in fact instantly have an impact on whether or not a response appears. My next question is how do I stop this from happening in the future? These spam filters are quite helpful for contact forms, but are much less helpful for something like an event registration form. Is there any way to disable the Askimet integration with a particular form or stop it in some other manner? Thanks!
Hello! For the vast majority of the submissions there is no factor that really predicts what’s going on, except for in one case, the primary reason I’m having this conversation, every single submission to a particular form is being marked as spam. As I’m going through the database I’m particularly confused because on a form that has 225 submissions not a single one shows except a test response that has long since been deleted, and is not counted in the 225. This prompted me to explore the database more, and it’s looking like a vast majority of the stuff listed in that database are either things that are absolutely spam, or test submissions deleted long ago. I’m not sure why this is the case but so much information just simply is not there.
Hello! At this point I think it’s safe to say that the issue with the entries not appearing hasn’t been resolved despite the change. The submissions still do not appear.
Yes, my site absolutely has server-side caching, which I went ahead and cleared. I do not know if there should be some delay between when the cache is cleared and when the entries become visible again.
As for the fragmentation of the database, is there any documentation on how those entries are assimilated to provide response data? I’d like to understand that better. Thank you!
Hello! I also seem to be experiencing this conflict with Askimet as I went ahead and looked at the database and is_spam did have several instances where it was 1. I went ahead and changed them all to 0, but I’m not seeing them pop up in Forminator. Please let me know what I should do next.
I went ahead and enabled the debug log, I’m no longer seeing the maximum execution time error. Is this something that can come and go on a regular basis if it’s known to be an issue or is it more consistent?
The exports are at relatively low traffic times, and of six error emails not one of them happens within an hour in either direction of the exports. The exports we do use are very limited, one hasn’t happened for a few weeks and even when we do there’s at most three exports happening in one day, usually less. Though the traffic of exports should be increasing in early January.
Hello! Yes both pages will now go to 404 errors, as I eliminated both versions of the page and created a new one using Gutenberg, which works fine. I will however revive one of the pages and try your load from ajax suggestion to see if that fixes the issue.
I do have exports enabled on a limited number of forms, but for those that have it enabled at this point in time it’s a necessity
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately so many changes were made between the last time the popup worked and when I noticed it had stopped that it’s simply impossible to pinpoint.
I went ahead and disabled asset caching, and I’m not seeing any immediate change.
The issue can be found here: https://crventuring.org/connect/articles/landingpage/national-noteworthy-crews/
I went ahead and uninstalled and re-installed the plugin, this seems to have improved some other minor issues I was having, but the error message has persisted. Would a delay between the re-installation of the plugin and the disappearance of the error be possible?
Also, I followed along in the article you provided about detecting plugin conflicts, the article isn’t entirely applicable to the situation I’m currently in because everything does seem to be working entirely fine (aside from the occasional instance where forms simply just don’t load and instead leave blank rectangles) so it’s hard to identify any particular cause to the error.
I spoke with a WordPress Happiness Engineer who informed me that all of those values are controlled on their end and I cannot do anything to modify those values.
I’ve installed the plugin you suggested and I can see them in the log when they don’t send. The issues usually occur with yahoo email accounts, though this isn’t a universal rule. Any idea what might be causing this? @wpmudev-support7
