No, I didn’t. I was still getting emails as was the client also, which is fine, but when I went in to do some updates, it said everything was up to date. “You are running the latest version of WordPress 3.8.3” etc. I could not update anything until disabling this plug-in and then I had 12 or 15 to do at that point. I don’t want them automatically updating by themselves, but I do want to have the option to update if I choose to.

I’ve got it working pretty well now. Just thought WP would pull any file I upload into the child theme folder, but if it’s included as theme directory instead of stylesheet directory then it pulls the parent, but if I change all to stylehseet directory, then it fails if the file isn’t there. Shouldn’t it look at every file to see if it’s in the child theme also, and then use/addend that code as well?

How am I supposed to put all the work I’ve done into a child theme?

Well, the Ministries don’t have categories and they don’t show up in the taxonomy, for starters. I wanted to set different widgets for different Ministries with Jetpack, but as they flat-out don’t show up, I had to use css. As for the plug-ins, he told me to disable them one by one and see which one is having the conflict, which is 0 because there was no conflict; it merely wasn’t pulling settings from the database because that’s how he coded it.

ok I reset it again by letting the file take over, then commenting out the code I don’t want (so it pulls from the database) and it works fine. I can change settings and I can add new settings (see here: https://www.27moons.com/OPTIONTREE/added-new-setting.jpg “whatever” at bottom). The thing is, I know if I change the Contextual Help text, it will mess up, so while I don’t really need that right now, it’s bothering me that it doesn’t work and I want it to be able to work in the event that I someday actually do need it. That part is actually in the other field in the same table in the database, isn’t it? Why would that affect it cutting off after the first Galleries setting?

Yeah, I upgraded into the theme subdir for OptionTree and it didn’t take much time to find where he’s set the options in a file, but it’s buggy and I need to make my own options. He keeps lying to me saying it’s a conflict with another plug-in, so that’s why I’m coming here to get help as there is zero support with him.

I’ve set my own php.ini and the max_input_vars are 9999, but it’s still cutting off after the first Gallery setting. Do I need to have the host reboot the server or ?

The funny thing is I can reset the file to take over, and then comment out where it doesn’t pull from the database, and everything stays the same until I change something to test it, like putting some different text into the Contextual Help Sidebar. Then it fails, stops after the first Gallery setting and on the Theme Options panel, the settings after Gallery are removed also. ugg! ??

Not trying to hijack, but I have a similar problem. I have a ton of blank posts, generated in bulk, that I want to delete, but I can’t see an excerpt column in my post listing page so I’ll be sure to only delete the group of blank posts. It is not there under screen options. How do I get it there?

Also, in trying plug-ins that I thought *might* help (because googling does absolutely nothing but take me on random chases for wrong things), I came across this: Advanced Excerpt Options. Maybe that will help you.

I hope someone can help figure out where the excerpt preview field/column option is, because it would be handy to see an excerpt of each post on the post list page, and I’m about to freak out without it. Using twentyfourteen. thanks.

Well if that’s the case, then you should not advertise it as being responsive if it is in fact not responsive. I searched for responsive and found your theme. Also, do you have proof that this has been fixed in the pro version? Do you have a demo I can view? Thank you.

How would I find that normally if I came to the main forum?

I guess I’d better move this post too. Is there a link or breadcrumb or something to find that other forum other than coming back here and clicking Jan’s link? How would someone normally get to the twenty twelve subforum?
