THANK YOU!!!
Sending hugs, smiles & a few cold ones your way (what the heck).
I’m going to need the “block details” so I can open up a ticket. Where did you find this info and/or could I find it myself if I had to? They told me they don’t give error logs due to them putting all sites into the same log or something (?) Yeah. So, I have installed about 5 or 6 debuggers, loggers and troubleshooter plugins only to find out that they, also, cannot function in this environment AND the default wp error log file has not been written to since 2021.
Any information would greatly help!
Happy Friday!

Of course. Thanks for the support!
Ooh – that red button is really filling that container up there, isn’t it? ??

I do have ftp and did change the permissions a bunch of times recursively to 777, but it still can’t write to /home/[website]/public_html/wp-content/uploads/
I had a chat with support at GoDaddy and the guy told me that there is no public_html on managed hosting, so that directory doesn’t exist. However, several plugins seem to think they reside there, but can’t write to the proper directory. I asked him if they edit the htaccess file upon munging up the wordpress directory structure, so that things go to the right place, and he said no they can’t touch customers’ files (or something like that). He said that not all plugins are “managed hosting” compatible and I have to check each one to make sure they are before installing them. Well, how do I do that? I’ve searched for this issue for hours and found nothing. I would think this would be a common problem with a large percentage of plugins not working on GoDaddy’s hosting (or being “incompatible”). Either that or there is something unique about this particular account and it’s just affecting this one site, and maybe it actually has nothing to do with there being a public_html directory or not.
I ask if they can put in another symlink to let things know where they are. I just completed a quiz and now can’t save it and I can’t upload images, so this is a definite issue. I’ll be contacting them again to get it sorted out.
Thanks for your reply!h3xa,
It’s on the Advanced Tab > Popup showing limitation:
Turn that toggle to ONand then set the number of views per visitor
or the number of days that it will resume (0 for each session)and then for each page, which you probably don’t want to do, because it will revert back to fresh on each page, side-wide.
HTH!
Does anybody come in here more than once per month?
There’s a toggle to it in the settings, to show or not to show. I have the free version.
Go to WP Touch > Settings – the fourth item is toggle on or off.
HTH!

Can www.remarpro.com please learn about base href.
I was just about to post this as well. I tried a negative bottom margin but it didn’t work. I found that what you have to do is butt the text right up against the end bracket ] of the first shortcode, and so one. Experiment until it works. Also, check your code (“text”) view in WordPress and make sure it’s not adding p and br tags. HTH! : )
Oh my bad. I thought I was waiting for your reply. Let me update this.
I will remove the one that is all from 1970 (bummer, it has such great images).
Let’s see what happens. For page 1, if it can’t pull the image from the article itself and only goes by the feed, shouldn’t it still pull the default image that I have set up in the shortcode?
For page 2, apparently there are 4 feeds in this category. The 2nd one does not have images, but the other do, and they show up. No default image shows up. The 4th feed in this category are all dated January 1, 1970, at 12:00 am, which looks like a generic date. When you look at the actual feed itself, there is an image, a title and link and an excerpt – no date. Is this why it sorts by each feed instead of by date of all of them at once? If so, how would I fix this?
Hi Ashish!
Thanks for your fast reply. ok real easy – let me answer these.
1. There is no shortcode. That is all I could find. I had to go into Classic > Text to find it. It’s not visible anywhere else. Maybe just delete it?
2. For the purpose of this conversation, let’s just assume I’m using https://mysite.com/wp-content/uploads/default.jpg. I know the path. Honestly, I do not want to see the default image ever – I want the image from the feed articles.
3. Uh. Let’s see. Must go look. Nope. Nothing on page 1 has an excerpt, but neither does the feed that I’m pulling from.
The feed URL is https://press.autotrader.com/news-releases?pagetemplate=rssIt’s in a category. One suggestion here: It would be nice to allow the user to edit the category slug.
Page 1 is pretty much a total loss, but I still would like to know why it’s not pulling anything. At this point, I’m assuming it’s because the feed URL does not have much to pull. Is that why?
If so, we can move on to page 2, which is almost a total success, so I’m hoping to get that straightened out and expand from there.
Thanks again!
