Update:
Sort of fixed it with going to Settings and changing Permalinks to other setting. At least i don;t get any 404s

Details:
I had Custom Permalinks plugin prior to installing Redirection.

I had uninstalled Redirection and Custom Permalinks… no cigar!

Just installed Redirection and immediately all my permalinks stopped working. Well, maybe not immediately : i added empty .htaccess to httpdocs and created Apache group with a redirector that checks for a specific referring website URL.

Now is my entire site is 404!!!

I expect 50.000 visits starting in 5 hours

I deinstalled Redirection but still all links go to 404

That must be it! I have WP-ecommerce installed. I will follow your advice and deinstall it and remove the tables. We’ll see what happens.
