Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: menu link options not workingI tried switching themes and returning to default permalinks. So far it’s no go. I’ve tried flipping off all plug ins but the security plug ins. Does anyone know if wp better security or wordfence would cause this? I’m using them on another site that was also updated and they are having no trouble there.
I’m using Absolum theme. I already transferred everything I could over to the native text widgets and they work fine without breaking the theme: starhorsepaxdesigns.com
When I did a validation check and searched forums, it said something was probably adding an extra tag somewhere. I kind of figured it was something 3.6 suddenly got picky about.

In reply to: some sidebar items moved down to bottom after updateOh dear! Deactivating did work. Oh bother, I suppose I need to find another comparable plug in. I don’t see any excess tags inside the area I did. Hope they fix it!
Thanks for the tip!

In reply to: How to send proof to client without making public? What’s wrong is that it’s already UP and in progress. It’s too late to move to a testing server.

In reply to: How to send proof to client without making public? Why has it worked fine before then? We’ve always set a ‘index.html’ for google to find and typed in the index.php to reach the CMS.
I don’t know about other web designers but I know we’ve never had trouble using index.php and index.html side by side before. Same server, same host same everything, except we hadn’t used the WordPress as recently. Lately it’s mostly been Joomla. But when researching this I’ve found plenty of posts that show it used to work for WordPress as well.

That’s what I called the subdirectory I installed it in. (under the idea of keeping it simple)
