In reply to: Child page of "Home" appears in the top menu.It all may be coming clear.
So… Once the site is set up with “Front page displays:Your latest posts” the top menu will always be incapable of displaying children under the page called “Home”. Something like that?
I took the site over from the owner and he had already used it get something started. I changed Reading Settings to “Front page displays: A static page > Front page: Home”.
Due to the sequence of creation and modification, I am unable to have a child even there even though it appears as a child in the Pages list and the URL of the intended child indicates that it is indeed a child of “Home”? Is there a way to regain control of that process?
I took a different route with my issue but remain interested in this dilemma.

In reply to: Creating child of "Home" on menu?Even though the menu item “About Me” shows in the top menu, the URL in the address bar, https://clydeholler.net/home/about-me/, indicates that it is a child of “Home”. I would like for “About Me” to actually be a child of “Home” in the drop-down.

In reply to: Creating child of "Home" on menu? After activating the unedited twentyten theme, the page “About Me”, designated as a child of “Home”, is still in the top menu. https://clydeholler.net/

In reply to: Creating child of "Home" on menu?Theme is a child of Twentyten. I want to add a child to the “Home” menu item. When the site owner is in control of the site he needs to be able to add pages as desired. If it is not possible to add a child under “Home” using the Twentyten theme, I will address this with the site owner.

In reply to: Creating child of "Home" on menu?I have to hand the site over to the owner for his own management, and need to keep things simple. is there an issue with simply assigning a child page to a page called “Home”?

In reply to: Creating child of "Home" on menu?Am I doing it wrong? I have a folder called “twentyten-holler” with style.css in there plus some of the other files I’ve modified. Mods appear in the site. Everything else seems to work.
